Few revisions to do to the sprue, as its really to big, But it shoots great, Blue gill machine here.. :)
Wow ,those are nice. Makes me want to get that mold. Counting pennies right now. LOL Great work. I think you breathed new life in the addiction!
Just finishing it up now. Had to make a few changes.:)
That'll make a nice sunfish sized leech bait. That 1 3/4 inch number you had up yesterday would be a great size for crappies and larger sunfish in this area.
Tom,
I got the Fire Fly at 1.75. Im cutting it as well today.
those 1" look just perfect, and the 1.75 fire fly should be real nice when it is done too. Wish I could have swung by your shop while I was in the area last month, but not enough time in the day!
Baits came out of the mold right about 1.1"
Elrik, welcome anytime..
I'll be putting the 1.75" model on the want list. Things are tight right now with year end taxes and just getting past the holidays. But soon.
The venting in the tail of this bait should create some real nice noise for fishing in cloudier water or low-light periods. Nice looking bait.
I mainly did that so a guy could split the tail real easy and make a twin tail. But I am partial to tails with holes in them as well.
I have been looking for a bait to come out really close to that. I would like to see a bait that you can vertical fish or split the tail for casting. I wonder adding some bumps on the tail tip would impart some action. I have a model I made a few years back I might send you and see what you think. Nothing exclusive just an idea! I am partial to 2.25 baits and have been fishing flapper baits for a few years and fish them with the tail up and down. Have caught a lot of fish twitching it just a little. Always wandered why a fish will not hit a dead minnow. The tail is not moving!!
The arc'd lines on the tail should give it a bump effect, Ill adjust after i get it cut, bout to run the prototype now. Im always game for new ideas. :)
Hope you don't crash. Been looking at Solidworks for a while and trying to find a class. Not much in Kentucky Country. LOL
I would like to thank you very much for downsizing the Arkansas flash for me I'm really excited about getting it in the mail it should be a awesome size or the bluegills and you ice fisherman should really eat this one up I got mine, coming.
I will be ordering the firefly next is soon as we get a few more cavities okay is it possible to get the firefly in 20 cavity in the future.:biggrin
Firefly is working at 6 cavity, and 14 cavity, Keeps the mold blank the same as the Flash, 11" Long on the 14. 5.25 on the 6.
If you want to learn to draw 3d, I got a great program for beginners, I dont sell it, I do use it everyday. Its easy to self teach. Will get you a leg up if you ever do want to use solidworks.
I use Punch Via Cad Pro Version 7, If you spend more than 30.00 on it shipped your paying to much, Just look around.
The pics I am posting are from my cam program, It is simulating the cuts from the machine program, I am not drawing them. All these crappie baits I am doing are only 2 dimensional. So there just programmed from lines. Sample pic from Punch Cad attached.
Edit:
I actually draw in Punch via cad, Auto cad, And even My cam program. I generally design most of a bait in autocad, And import it to the Via cad, rotate lines, give dimension to it etc.
LOL, I dunno. It may be a cool bait in 2" tho..
Test mold of the firefly needs some tweeking, recutting it tomorrow. :)
That was fast. I just saw this one your site. Placing my order now.
I been cutting stocking inventory all week. It will ship tomorrow. :)
Great looking baits. Perfect sizes. More molds to buy very very soon
