Looking for gold plated jigheads. 1/16 and 1/8 oz. Any leads? I don't think gold powder paint is bright enough for what I need.

Send me a PM with your name address and phone number. I will send you something that will make your jig heads gold as you want I think.
Nothing beats Gold Plated heads, Crazy Angler is where I got mine, but it's been a few years. I loaded up on plated heads then and both Nickle and Gold ones and still keep a nice supply for personal use.

I am making some a different way and haven't fished them yet but am very satisfied with the look. I take clear vinyl gloss liquid by cs systems and thin it down with their thinner. you will need to take a little out of the 1oz. jar in order to get enough room for some thinner on a new jar. after adding the thinner, a couple squirts of it with an eye dropper, mix it up good with a 1/16" piece of wire or such. take a bare jighead and dip it into the clear and slowly pull it out, waite about 20 secs and then dab the drip off the nose of the head, at this point take gold glitter by cs systems and sprinkle it al over the wet jighead till it's covered, tap off the extra without touching the glitter. stick the head into the edge of a cardboard box to dry. I do about a dozen at a time and then waite a couple days before overcoating with the same clear gloss. I know it's tedious but man it sparkles real good. Make sure you thin the clear pretty good or the glitter coat will add too much bulk, also flick off any loose glitter before overcoating to avoid over bulk also. I get several colors from tj's tackle, he has good prices, and make sure you get the glitter by itself not mixed with clear powder. the green is absolutely beautiful, and I have the purple too and it looks great but haven't done any heads with it yet. another thing... don't use a fluid bed.. for some reason it bulks up on the head too much.. just sprinkle it on there with the fingertips.
I am no good at pics but have done gold. gold and silver and gree, they look great. the gold and silver head with gold and silver kreinik flash material is the bomb, the whole jig is flashy and they do catch crappies very well, especially it seems when they don't want other offerings.
I just looked, and it's called powderflake glitter, and it's on the same page with all the other powder paints, it's on the far right hand side of the page. I get the 2oz. size jars, don't get the orange tho, as it's pretty dull.
Yes I have most of their good colors as well bought a pound each, LOL! Like I will ever use that much of that metalflake, but I had what I thought was a good idea. I made my sparkle jigs using that flake. I guess guys didn't like the idea of a body that is about as tough as it gets and will be there long after the tail is gone. Here is a old pic of one of my jigs using that flake on the body. I make it just like the glow jigs except in place of glow powder I use the flake on these. Still don't understand why they didn't sell, but didn't!

I know a gold plated head will flat out reflect and flash and I have no idea which head will catch more fish, but the glitter sparkles rather than flashes because each piece of glitter has it's own angle that it reflects, so these two heads are just gonna be different. I haven't fished the glitter yet but from what I have seen with the mylar mixed into the new age chenilles, this type of reflection really comes alive in the water, much more than out of the water holding it in your hand. another thing is this, when the clear vinyl gloss is wet, it has more bulk than it does after it dries, as it dries and cures, it shrinks and tightens right up, and also I prefer to do this when it's not so cold out in the shop, because temp. affects the thickness of this stuff, it will still work when it's cold but you need to thin it more.
I have a friend that catches crappies by spider rigging and someone gave him a few kiptail jigs with a gold sparkle head, he said it looks like glitter, and he had a lot of luck with these jigs but finally lost them. when I saw him he was practically begging me to make him some as he had no more, this is what got me to messing with the glitter. He had a couple photos on his cell phone of the jig, so I began to try to copy the look of the head and after about 4 different kinds of gold sparkle powder paint that didn't quite give off enough sparkle, I had some old gold glitter in a small jar and just coated the head while it was wet. And that was the closest look I could get to what he showed me.
almost forgot, the other color that I like the looks of is chartreuse, to me it is just a different shade of gold, it has a little yellowish green hue to it and looks great on a green chart. bodied hair jig.
Any with sickle hooks out there?
Skip, that is a great looking jig there too! To me they take more time to do and you can create more mess while you are doing it too, like I said after about a dozen heads I'm ready to do something else for a while, as it gets tedious fast, but they might just be worth doing, we will see this spring I guess.
Well good luck and let us know if they help. I can't help but think a little flash has to help in spring. The shallow water should make it be able to get help from the sun too.
i am going to try a few things this next spring as well, but the main one is not new, it's more backing up a few years to see if anything changes.
BPS has gold and nickel. But no sickle hook.
the 3000 that I've got from crazy angler on the gold all of them are sickle in if anybody wants the 3/8 size let me know I have 1000 or prepare 1000 to get rid of.
Arkie....
