I have 2 that I got from Academy that are 36". Only cost $15 and open up easily in the water. I've never had a problem with them. One will slow my 18ft. Fish n Ski to a crawl with 5-10mph wind.
Get the biggest one you can , I think mine is 42" wish I'd got a bigger one
Get a 60" or 2 36", always get larger than recommended. These will do the job.
If it gets so windy that I need a 5ft. drift sock, I will go just go home.
get a big one ,i have thge ones from academy and i have a couple 60 in
I have made 3 different sizes with a cheap plastic tarp. Cut it the size you want in an elongated triangle then use duct tape to seal it together. Sounds "redneck" but it actually works GREAT!! Ive had the 3 I made for 3 years now and they still hold up well.
Cabela"s 77 inchers. As many as needed.
Darrell go to corn field crappie gear on face book
We have a paddle that takes the place of the drift sock. Sooo much easer to use.
Always use two....biggest you can find.
:hesaid
Carl taught me and I use a min of a 66 and usually 2
Thanks for all the reply. I'll probably go with 2 60inchers.
You can really use two drift socks with a spider rigging set-up? Interesting. I've used drift socks many times while smallmouth bass fishing on off-shore structures, however, we are only allowed 2 rods per person up here (crazy laws). When drifting, we only use one each, mainly due to the interference of the drift sock lines, with the rod lines. Love to see someone using two socks with multiple rods! That should be fun! :)
Pretty simple when rigging. Put em off rear of boat, one on each side then fish off front of boat. Boat going to drift with bow forward all sock lines are at rear of boat. I have a stick steer so who ever fishes with me is fishing in back off side of boat and never been a problem. Assume you are drft fishing with sock off the side of boat.
