Seems like we lost Lucky (MIA). He was our source for all things good down at Cane Creek. (LA Stumpjumper has been trashing down in Louisana. :D ) I haven't been since I struck out 3 times in a row either. I am sure there is a ton of fresh water on it. Maybe LA will go get a report for us, but if they are turned on at Morgan Point, I may be making a run down there in the near future. Gotta duck hunt this weekend since I have spent all that money and only been one time this year. If I get the chance to go over there, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
I hope to venture down to CC soon. Will send report.
I haven't fished either place in the last 3 weeks. All the fresh water affected Cane Creek, but it should be full now so it won't be rising each time it rains since it will be going over the spillway. The water rising doesn't affect Monticello much since it is so deep. I had a report 2 weeks ago today, 2 guys from work went and caught 34 good ones with several 2 lbers. They were fishing in 55 ft. water 2 to 3 ft. off the bottom. I'm going to try to go somewhere this weekend, either one of these lakes or Morgan Point. Will report how I do.Quote:

Good luck this weekend. We have had a few days of stable weather, maybe, just maybe, the fish will cooperate. I may try L.M. Friday or Saturday myself. I don't have to catch "a boat load" to be happy but living in Central Ar, it is quite a journey to make for a couple of fish. I would like to know if the crappie bite is just decent.
I may be up for a combo trip to CC and LM this weekend. That's if I can work it out with the better half...
I'm going to try L. Monticello tomorrow, I'll post my results.
I may go duck hunting sat...dunno. depends on: A. results of L.A's trip B. my huntin buddy C:Permission... :D
Boy Allen, that sure is a bunch of variables there...:DQuote:

Monticello on Sunday morning (I figure those crappie won't be so skiddish post-front). If either of those fall through, I'd also like to hit Morgan Point. Well, those are my plans for the weekend. What's everyone else's?Quote:

If the wind isn't bad L. Monticello could be O.K. post front, but it don't take much wind for it to get rough. You'll need a good anchor and a long rope to hold in a spot. If you go to M. Point just ease out from the ramp and fish out in the open water, that is the deep hole where they usually congregate in the winter, just off the bottom.Quote:

The lake looks good and is to full pool. I just tried jigs, maybe minnows would work better, not many anglers on lake.
