They've been catching em down there.
BB, get back to us here if you go and have success. I've never been south during winter, but could be talked into it if they are cooperating.
Will do, JimmyD. Hopefully I will get to go sometime this week. Thanks BRM for the report.
i have friends that have been up there and at eagle for the past three weekends. according to them the numbers are not huge but the fish are. they have averaged 15 to 20 a day in the 1.5 to 2.5 range and surprisingly the fish are fairly shallow on structure. that being said the weather is terrible in that area right now. we are looking at getting 8-12 inches of rain by the weekend and the wind is howling out of the southeast. you cant fish washington in high wind unless you fish off an aircraft carrier. good luck and have a merry christmas
Warm as it's been, I can see why they have been shallow
I haven't made it down to Washington yet due to holidays & rain . I am going just as soon as I can. I'm assuming it's probably flooded right now, like it is in Ar. Is it to high to fish now?
Lake Washington being hi is different from an oxbow or a COE lake being hi, it is landlocked so it is less effected.
Agree with John. The river system doesn't have an effect on Washington.
They were catching limits on a regular basis a month or so ago.
Does the river system effect the other good crappie lakes near the Mississippi river?? Is Washington the only landlocked lake??
Washington is the only landlocked lake close to the river , that I know of. Lake lee & Lake Ferguson are feed by the river. May be some that I don't know about, being these three is all I have ever fished in MS.
So would the lakes near Mississippi river except Washington now all be flooded with Asian carp in them??
All the oxbow lakes have been infested with Asian carp for sometime now.
Don't have any pics on my computer but the fish were on fire at Washington in November and December. Haven't been since this past weekend so I don't know what the cold weather has done to them.
