Will they live in still water like a lake??? that will be cool tho!
I thought it had to be cold water?? Got walleye in there too...we will end up having to import Yankees to teach us how to catch this stuff...😆 trout...rainbow trout...probably just trying to find something to go along with the Asian Carp...
They put them in the small fishing lake to catch over the winter.
JACKSON -The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) stocked approximately 600 rainbow trout into the bank-fishing pond at Lake Lamar Bruce near Saltillo. According to MDWFP Fisheries Biologist Tyler Stubbs, "This stocking will provide anglers with a unique fishing opportunity during the winter months. In addition, the trout create a great opportunity to introduce youth or new anglers to fishing because they will be easy to catch."
Anglers can harvest up to three trout per person per day with no size restrictions. Anglers must have a valid fishing license and a state lake daily or annual fishing permit to fish in the pond.
Ok..that is not in the main lake. Makes sense, I guess
They like spam
Got a couple of lakes in Germantown and Collierville they stock them in. Getting people out to utilize the parks. They will live in the still water as long as it is cold enough. Soon as it warms up they die off. From what I understand they get a lot of folks with their kids out to fish for them. Pretty easy to catch Hatchery raised trout. Great way to get kids involved.
They stock trout in the little park lake in West Memphis in the winter. What isn't caught won't survive the warmer months and become turtle bait.
They aren't worth much for eating, but it's fun to catch something different/pretty, especially for a youngster. Good job MDWFP.
They do make good tomato fertilizer. Just plant the fish now for spring. [emoji12][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
No federal trout stamp?
I like to stand or sit in a kayak on those cold rivers to catch a limit. They are fun to catch, but can't stand the taste.
We caught them on Colorado on Whole Kernel corn.
Fire up the Masterbuilts! I didn't like them much until I'd tried them on my smoker (charcoal side box). I go for 2 - 2.5 hours at about 225. Try it and you may like them that way. I like the way Cracker Barrel fries them up, but too much work to do at home for a few fish.
cut bait....catfish love'em.
