Terrova vs Riptide?

What is the main difference?

Riptide is rated for saltwater

Riptide is white instead of black....its the salt water version and has different seals.

Is that the only difference?

Far as I can tell, that's the onliest difference.

I found a new terrova 80 with ipilot remote and foot pedal for 1418.00

Or a factory refurb with factory warranty. Riptide 112 with ipilot remote and foot pedal for 1399.00

No tax or shipping on both

Anybody had any dealings with the factory refurbished stuff?

Main thing is how long is warranty on refurb unit. Have seen some with only 90 days. Factory refurb should be as good or better than new. In your case I would opt for the 112 at that price. Think you would be happier in the long run.

Riptide is white and has sacrificial anodes....only difference.

1 year warranty.

Then that is the one I would go with.

The Riptide does NOT come with the foot control. The Terrova does.

I was looking at Terrova's but cant find one with I-pilot 80# with a 54" shaft. All they have is 45" or 60". Why is that?

Get a 60" you wont be sorry

Just had a Rip Tide apart today. Feelay is correct. Seals are the same. Color and the anode are the only difference. The paint appears to be an epoxy to withstand saltwater.

Don't have a reason why but if 54 is what you need just get the 60 and cut it down. Pretty simple for you.

Wilbur, get the 60 and put it on. Fish with it a few times before cutting it down, if you still want it cut CARRY it to an authorized service person. It is easy to do yourself but if you do you could void the warranty.

That's what I was thinking of doing. Or get a riptide,except the boat is camo and the white will look out of place. Or go with a PD V2 70# This will be on a 20ft. boat

If I had the money to buy the Terrova there is no way I would settle for the PD, stowing is so much easier with the Terroca.

Even easier with the Ultera in the classidied forum.
