Awesome! I plan on jiggin Tuesday if I get my chore's done today.
How many did you end up keeping out of the 300? If I might ask.
About 150 between the 5 of us. so about 30 a piece. Although I had to clean all of them because it was me, my uncles and gpa. And youngest cleans in my family... we only do this about once or twice a winter to get some in the freezer. winter crappie taste better then spring in my opinion!
I had never been on the lake, so i went for it. I did not get done what Docker did, but i had a good time.
way to get after them fellas... great report
Thats awesome! Whens the fish fry? Lol
I am really surprised no one commented on the oxygen machine aerator!
Very nice! Thanks for the report. Ok, whats up with the oxygen machine aerator?
How do you keep 150 crappie alive in a couple boats livewells? Also, why put them in the tub after you caught them? Just curious. Nice job
i have a big homemade live well in my boat from a cooler with a big pump. i also use it for catfish and big gar. not all were alive there were only about 80 in the bait tanks. we have the bait tank to store fish if you only keep a few here and there so you don't have to clean 5 crappie. you can wait till you have a good mess and then clean some fish. but the main reason is to purge them. its not that big of a deal with crappie but really helps out with bigger fish. letting them sit for a few days and take in the cold clean well water and flush there systems helps keep the meat cleaner. and the oxygen machine was just garage sale fine. work with what you got.
