Beautiful day on the water

There was a chill in the air but it went away as soon as I cut the big motor off. The it warmed up nicely into a beautiful day. The sun was out and then cloudy, the wind was very light, and the tide was falling fast until about noon. It took a while to find fish and for a while Linda was putting it to me. She had 3 in the boat before I caught 1. She ended up with 5 and I had 3 plus we each caught a bass. More than enough fish for us since we don't freeze any.

There were a lot of bass fishermen out and I think everyone caught a limit, at least all I spoke to. I met up with SouthernSlabs at the landing. He had a braggin box of fish which included a bunch of slabs, 2 redfish, a limit of bass and a hugh white bass. Something I've never seen in this area.

SS did come up with an idea that I liked. Remember the mini gathering we had a Henderson where we fished the morning and met at Pat's for a 2 PM lunch and BS session. Well we have a enough members in the Houma/Thibodeaux area to do the same, plus anyone one who wants to drive from a little further out. It would be a great time and some of our members could put faces to names. Think about it and I'll start a thread after New Years.

Way to go Gene & Linda......that's the perfect size mess I love to bring home.....not a lot to clean & plenty to eat on for a few days......I don't like to freeze either.....I might drive down for a get together if I could get back home before dark......love the pictures....

Y'all are welcome anytime but this week end looks like a bust with the winds being up and some maybe sever storms for Sunday. This week has at least 2 system coming thru but without rain. That can turn the bite of like it did today after that front went thru last night. Next week starts off pretty bad too.
