As I was the only one left on the lake, the Sun turned black, the shallow bite came alive and I left them culling on a dark lake. Black Ole Sun can mean great fishing at times.

A lot of guys like to get home to do other things in the evening.Or they just like to fish for a few hours a day mostly early. I go fishing sometimes and just love being on the water.Don't really need or want to be anywhere else most of the time. There are a lot of times in late evening I am the only one left on even a pretty heavily fished lake of several thousand acres. Having your run of the place right when the fish turn on is pretty fun.Course you have to clean them fish after dark or cooler em to the next day. I usually just go ahead and clean them when I come off the water and take the fillets home in a cooler.Carry 12 volt knife and fillet board and lights.
Nice catch
Yes Doggone...you know it. I always carry a lantern and spot light to get back after dark, just in case I want to do a little night hunting.:witching
Nice haul Russ!
Nice catch. Love being on the lake after sunset but don't don't do it enough.
Good looking fish. Thanks for the pics and post Russ.

Wow
Good post CP. Wear your life jacket.Love to fish from 2:30 am till daylite not many on your spot especially on lake C!!
Congrats that is a nice mess of fish. All of this fresh water sure doesn't appear to have effected your ability to catch a good stringer.
Nice Russ.
Very nice catch !
Dang man, looks like i left too early! I got out of there at 2:00. :banghead
Hey, good choice for your title. It reminded me of an old Soundgarden song, "Black Hole Sun." Chris Cornell rocks!
Thanks, every now and then I like to incorporate sound titles, (or close to) along with tips in my post. Like the Great David Allen Coe Says "If you big crappie star bound, Let me warn you it's a long hard ride"...Allot of truth in that statement. The Ride.
When I was a young man, i was thumbing from Little Rock to Memphis with a Crappie rod strapped too my back, when this stranger stop's beside me in a antique Crappie Cadillac , I said thanks for the ride Mister and he said, YOU! don't haft to call me Mister!... Mister!, The whole world calls me Bill.
He said DRIFTER?!!!
Can you make folks cry when you fish their hole's?
Have you paid your Tournament dues?, Boy?!!! Can you moan the crappie blues... and bend those crappie strings?
He said Boy!!! can you make folks FEEL!!! what you feel inside, Cause if your Big Crappie Star bound... let me warn you it's a long hard ride.
Man you smashed em!!!! As usual!
Matt you are one of my Crappie Star's. One day them young'ins will come to you when your older, with a big ole stringer of slabs. An excited glare in their eyes you recognize. I hope you remember to tell them...Son you are Crappie Star Bound. Glad you liked it.:biggrin
You so right! CP.
