That's the same knot I use, but I've never seen the gadget.
JR, my daughter socolaitgirl sent a facebook link to Linda and she had me order a pair for 12.99 from Amazon with free shipping. They will be here in 2 days. I always use a palomar know because I use a lot of braid but Linda's jig pole has mono and she does her best to tie a clinch knot. She saw how easy this tool makes it so she had to have it.

i always wonder when I see things like this Y DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT 1st
that looks pretty slick, course seems like amazon is the only one with them and they are out.
I tie a loop knot so that the jig can freely pivot on the line, it allows the jig to have better action. It also always hangs properly, with the cinch knot, I was constantly pulling the knot back towards the point of the hook.
Ive seen that commercial a million times. Gonna be Mr negative here..They make it look easy...which it may very well be. But I bet the same amount of effort goes into using that than goes into tying a knot without it. The speed demon in the video probably practiced all day before filming that - which by that time you couldve practiced tying a regular knot.
Im sorry Im usually never negative... But I hate all the gimmicky stuff they sell on TV commercials. And this appears to be no different.
Gimmicky or not, if after practicing for a while my wife can tie a knot herself without interrupting my fishing, it will be worth the 6.50 I paid for one. It will also give her confidence in knowing that she has done it herself.

Amen PPG, I spend most of my time tying knots while the boys fish and break off.
But there would be no joy without them.
Buster, I fully understand. You're their hero and I you're my hero. Great to have you, Carolyn and the boys as our friends.
Blessings

Yeah Im sorry for puttng a negative spin on it.. Hopefully out of all the miracle products they advertise this one will actually work. It is a simple design. And my apologies for the extra comment in there earlier - my filters were temporarily disabled. nonono:o Ill look forward to the reports on it. If they work I may be interested - just had to buy myself some reading glasses just for tying hooks.
Progator, there is another tying tool that looks like it should work just as simple and has the advantage of making it easier to put the line in the eye. It's called tyepro fishing tool. Google "tyepro fishing tool'' and watch the video. Although it doesn't hide the hook it's like a third hand for us who are vision impaired.

Thanks PPG Ill check that out.
Just got new prescription for my glasses/contacts - I can see better far away but now I cant see squat up close.. this gettin old thing aint all its cracked up to be.
Wish they made this tool to put the 5 to 7 twists in automatically. That's what I fumble with.
I like the snap rings. Easy to change jigs n it lets the jig swing freely
