Oklahoma Deer

Managed to take two does and a nice 12 point buck with some charactar in the rack so far this gun season in Oklahoma.
Rifle of choice this season is a .243WSSM in the AR platform shooting 100 grain Speer BTSP bullets I hand loaded. That bullet dropped them in their tracks. I was expecially proud of the shot on the buck. 433 yds. In the top pic, you can see my shooting stand just left of center between the two scrub trees.

Wow! That's a real nice wide 12 point buck and the 2 doe's will be tender best eating deers. Thanks for the pictures.

and I don't ever take shots past about 150 .....LOL
WOW that's some shooting right there
most folks cant shoot like that for sure ......433 yards is a quarter mile out .....

Prairie dog hunting teaches more about long range shooting than anything else I ever did
400 yards the norm

My longest was 612

One of the guys I elk hunt with shoots at 1000 yd ranges and beyond. THAT is some shooting!:yikes

Haven't been prairie dog hunting yet, but I do spend a lot of my saturdays, and some sundays, Shooting competitions around the state. mainly USPSA Pistol matches, but do get the occasional 3 gun match in. We have a 300 yd bay at our local range, and I love ringing steel at that range. Shooting and crappie fishing.....it doesn't get any better.
