It is against Federal law to sell . trade or barter migratory game bird feathers !White Flag Icon
From featherbuyers.com website...I've given numerous fly tying guys duck feathers..my wife has used them on her hand tied jigs as well
Legally Harvested Waterfowl
I buy only plucked feathers, no skins or whole birds. Before you call to tell me you can’t sell feathers from wild ducks, please take a look at Migratory Bird Treaty Act. The law that makes buying and selling feathers legal is 50 CFR 20.91. Click to see the whole reading. However, some states have laws that are more restrictive and I’m putting together a list of those states.
Arkansas CAN sell duck feathers. My buddy has a Processing business and sells most of ALL his. Legally.
I will get you some for sure!
Sorry, but there are even exceptions in cases where it's not legal to sell feathers allowing them to be sold for fly tying and fishing.
Drop me a line when you guys have some ready to go!
I'm just getting started on duck season. Check your PM's
I wish I had saw this a few days ago...our group killed 8 drake wood ducks over the weekend
