All I saw were does but my step son got a nice one opening day of gun season with his bow.Attachment 220767Attachment 220768
Crossbow? The other bow season is closed during gun season.
First two of the day. They had a good season. Husband got 8 pt. buck and button buck. Son got 2 big does. That was a lot of work getting 4 into freezer. Attachment 220775
Attachment 220776 I thought in Missouri you could buy a firearm tag wear your orange and you could legally bow hunt???
That was a heck of a bow kill buck by your boy Speck!! Wish mine would have been a bow kill!!
Nice Deer All!
I shot a buck one year with my bow during gun season and yes you have to use a gun tag wear orange and all that jazz. It was super cool just because no one else knew I shot unlike the Bang!
Good info I didn't know that about bow hunting either. ice deer all.
Why do they make there rules so confusing? When it says Archery season is closed during gun season you assume it is closed. When you can still hunt with a bow during gun season on a gun tag doesn't make much sense when they say it is closed. They are good at confusing people.
I know what you're saying, but if you read the regs under legal methods, archery is included. You still have to abide by all firearms season rules. Years ago, I bow hunted in Mingo Wildlife refuge where it is archery only. You were still allowed to hunt there during firearms season, however, you could only use archery equipment. That's how I learned of the rule. BTW, archery season was crowded there but I was the only one on the whole refuge for firearms season.
Nice deer everyone, I'm still looking for a shooter buck. Ready to start fishing. :fish
We had a great year, saw a lot of bucks. My buddy Jon got a monster 10 that we never had on camera. and I killed what was the wide 9 pointer, which was our target buck all season. but he was broke up some when I got him so now he is an 8. Might have the taxi fix him to back what he was a week before I killed him,not sure yet.
My dad and brother also shot small bucks and dad got a doe. Looks like the smokehouse will be full this year, with plenty of leftovers for jerky and burger. Been a while since we stacked em up like this and the first year we have taken 2 wall hangers in one season off our own place. A season to remember!

Very nice Greg.
Nice looking deer guys.
Well, with life deer hunting, duck hunting, kids, etc., I haven't been around here much, but saw this thread and thought I'd contribute. My wife got a 9pt on the second day, then I got a 9pt a few days later. Where she's sitting is right over the Gasconade river and that post in the pic is where we'll sometimes tie the carcass to get pics of eagles. It was an experiment that didn't pan out, the coyotes usually get to it first,
We saw more bucks on the place this year than we did does. I counted more than a dozen distinctly different bucks and many of them were legal shooters, but I wanted one better than last year. I didn't get it. I got a nice wide 10 last year.
