I've been out of town, I'll let you know how I do Wednesday, LOL.
It has been too wet and rainy for most folks to go the last few days. I think when the weather gets better we will see some good reports. I will go Tues. or Wed. and will post a report.
I haven't been out since Sept, knee surgery Oct 7, starting therapy for pinched nerve in my neck today that makes my right arm go to sleep and having Hernia surgery Dec 3rd. The fishing Gods have been against me all year, these are just the latest problems. I just want to go fishing:pray:pray
Hang in their hope all goes well you will be back at it before you know it!
Water temp jumped back up on us. Fishing should get better by next week
Attachment 219292Went to the bridge this morning in a northeast wind storm(white capping) with a wetting mist.I had little hope of catching any but after the first 15 minutes I had 3 in the bucket i decided I had made the right call to tough it out. Ended up with 21 most all 11 to 14 inches and caught on monkey milk.I think the wind had the bait up against the bank as most were caught as I would lift my jig up.Best day so far for all of the Fall.Someday Im gonna figure out how to put a picture in here HA!!
Way to go snapperking. I haven't been on the water for a month now. I'm itching to get out there.
Good mess of fish .I hope to go in the morning for A few hours
Work has been keeping me busy the last few months hoping to get out Saturday will report then

Yeah Call Shy I saw a 10 pointer up at short creek one day last week on the ranger station side! I love deer season since it thins the bank fishing herd a lot(grin) and boy do I hate Feb 1 out of the woods they come thinking they got dibs on all the good spots!! Good thing is I usually got mine (crappie) by then and a couple of buddies like to trade Deer for fish :biggrin
Looks like most are catching some fish. I hope to go this week also.Good to see some fish pictures on here.
As of right now they are pulling a lot of water through the Coosa River Lakes to keep the water levels down so I don't think they are a good place to go right now. It has been my experience in the past that when they are pulling this much water you just can't hardly get a fish to bite. This is just my opinion and anyone else can comment if they wish. Have a great day everyone.
Went under a cause way this morning for 2.5 hrs 11 fish only3 keepers and several shad.wind stopped blowing just after day light when 1st bite came bit good for about 30 min
then it was over did get couple hits just as I started to leave at 7:30
Hustled up a mess bout thirty. Had to run a tank of gas out to find em that would biteAttachment 219591
Attachment 219592Had some nice feesh. This one was fifteen inches

Fished under 79 bridge with 8 other boats wed morn had 6 only 3 measuring seen several fish caught. Not many though some on minnows most on jigs. (Monkey milk)
Good luck on your hernia surgery,,had one 18 months ago and it hurt enuff for me to follow docs orders,,,,dernnit not picking up over 20 #,,,,for a couple months,,,,once was enuff,,,,!!
Fished cataco creek today only had two between 2 people. Water wasn't on all day.
Just got back from goose pond where we stayed for five days. It was slow and we only caught 20 crappie but they were a pound or better. I wish I had of came a little latter because you guys are going to be killing them. 79 bridge was so crowed that I could not even get my hand under that bridge. Bait fish are in there and the little crappie will be getting out the way or they will be the bait fish.
I did good at Indian Creek this morning catching 50 or so, Cataco Creek tomorrow, maybe.
Glad you caught some good ones. That's why c clamps are still in business because of that bridge! Lol so many folks fish that bridge I have seen That bridge so full that you can't get thru and the funny thing lots of times folks not even catching many fish.
that bridge has everything a crappie needs, depth or not, baitfish, cover at several depths and lots of folks with no clue on most occasions. I cant count the times Ive been there and heard folks say something like, "no current so no bite" or "I never catch them deeper than 6 ft" etc..... . there are catchable crappie there year round for those in boats, and most days from the bank. I caught several good slabs there back in July from the bank that were only 8 ft deep and that's not uncommon. try changing tactics to get a bite.
the cursing and threats of fisticuffs won't be far behind around the bridges from boaters and the bank crowd.
It isn't worth all that to me I load up and go else where.
Them crappie got a fine diet under the bridges about 6 am. They got bout 60 Bobby garlands to choose from and minnows and shad.
Caught eleven in my pond today.crappies
Hit lake Mitchell this morning at Barretts. Very stained. Did find a mountain of baitfish and a dozen spots. Had to keep one. He ate hook, line and sinker. No Crappie for me. Fished every weed pile I could find....lol.
