Most folks haven't realized their watercraft registration is expired yet. They discontinued those notices few years ago as well.
They stopped the trailer notices as well. Honestly, I don't see a problem with it. I don't believe it's the governments job to remind me to renew my registration. Last I heard, we all wanted less government, this is less government.
Yeah tax the peoples that works wages. Tax inheritance from the people they taxed already. Tax people when they buy something. Sure i forgot plenty of other taxes. But not enough money to send a notice about a boat registration renewal evert three years.
Less government good, less notices more tickets for expired plates
:popcorn
They broke it now they want us to fix it sad state to live in :puke
When you go and renew by phone they will charge you a 4 dollar convenience fee. Now I don't mind paying a higher fee for my plates or stickers because everything goes up but when they want to charge you for them to do less work . Really now what else can they charge you for ?
See ya Kevin ><)))*>
It should just be a one time license per owner for a boat and trailer anyway. And having to pay to launch your boat on a lake that was built,is managed, maintained, and staffed with your tax dollars is the worst form of double taxation. Our governments at every level have run amuck and you can't seem to stop them. And in the end they will be broke anyway no matter how much you give them.
I agree about launch fees...I fish Lake Shelbyville all the time and have never paid the fee to launch. I have never received a ticket or a warning. I do , however, abide by the rules when I'm on the lake. I also don't pay when fishing Mill Creek either. However, I do feel that guides should pay a lot higher fees for depleting a natural resource for money. How is it legal to guide on a Corps lake but not legal to guide hunters in Coros ground?
I meant to say "guide hunters on Corps ground."
Thanks for the advice pigpen, but I'll continue to do it my way. I figure with all the people polluting the lake with stake beds and other "fishermen" cutting down mature oak trees for their own personal fish habitats, the game wardens and Corps have bigger crimes to stop.
If I knew how to post a photo on here, I would show you where you can go see a huge oak tree that was cut down. I know of at least a dozen that were cut in the last year. The Corps knows about them, they're trying to find out who did it. They already busted one guide this year for putting in stake beds and gave him a hefty fine. They have a good idea who is cutting the trees, getting proof is another thing.
I did too
Yep....Just stirring the pot. Change the tune of the thread fellas. Just a troublemaker.
I believe we were talking about taxes, or more specifically how Illinois has mis-managed the taxes collected. We, as a state, pay more than enough to cover our bills, however our elected officials have squandered it away. We have the most corrupt political system of the states as evidenced by the number of our elected state officials who end up in prison. I'm not just talking about Republican or Democrats, its both parties.
The question remains: What are we going to do about it?
Tim, we are actually about 4th. We dont take in enough money anymore because of unfunded pension debt for one thing. we need new officals.
No disrespect here fellas but we are getting away from fishing. I'm gonna lock this one. Let's get back to Crappie.
