My scale said 7lbs 1oz and I didn't have a tape but used my golden rule and estimated it just over 26 ".

Here ya go Rich.Attachment 218842 Attachment 218843. The second one was so fresh that it hadn't had time to open up all the way and the inside was bleach white and had great flavor, very clean.

Thanks buddy, the story is alot better. Lets just say I was sitting on the ground and he snuck up on me at 15 feet and my gun was leaning on the tree in front of me. Its more detailed than that but this the short version.

Haha, I think I know where this is going. Happened to me too. I learned a long time ago to keep the shotgun within reach no matter what I'm doing. Nice deer Pat!

Hey Dave, I think the shrooms will be frozen now. The reason my muzzleloader was leaning on the tree in front of me was cause I just shot a coyote and thought no way will a deer be coming after that.

I have Bowhunted for over 45 years in several states and provinces. Bucks during the Rut are just plain dumb. They do some stupid things. It is what gets them killed! I have killed over a 100 bucks with a bow and very few of the mature Bucks were killed pre-rut or post rut. I guess that just proves how piss poor of a hunter I am. Kind of like catching Crappie when the fall bite is on. You don't have to be a pro, but catch them all year 90 plus % of the time you go and that proves you know your stuff! Some guys amaze me!

I once had my arms inside a bucks chest cutting the windpipe and another deer walked up and snorted at me and I grabbed my shotgun and shot it too. Yes, I had two landowner tags.
