Anybody going to step up and put one on next Spring? These things take a lot of planning.
I would love to help, just that I work every other weekend. If I am off the planned weekend I will help in any way.
I will help as well. The last one showed me that I am ill-suited for such an undertaking. BUT I am a good right hand if someone needs one! :biggrin
I'll help out too. Hopefully the right person will step up soon and the planning can begin. I know that there are several retired folks on the Arkansas board. I'm sure they have a little free time for planning (if they weren't fishing all the time). Who ever steps up, Just ask for help and I'm sure you will get plenty of offers.
Be happy to help and if it's central Arkansas area would love to smoke some pork butts for a meal
CMJ sounds like you are getting the vote. I will help in any way if needed.
Every year I have a fish fry (crappie) for about 75 to 80 of my clients. It takes a lot of planning and workers to pull it off successfully. I don't know that I would do it if I didn't have a great staff. Organization isn't necessarily my strong suit, worrying about it though probably is. I probably could provide a list of about everything you would need to be sure you have everything lined out to have one though. And will provide it to anyone if requested, for me it's the easiest way to be sure you have everything in place before the big event. A few door prizes ect. from some sponsors is icing on the cake, but I wouldn't want it to be a deal killer for anyone thinking about trying to put something together. The fellowship is the most important part to me. I've met some really great people over the last two years of crappie camps and learned a lot also. That's what it's about to me.
Sorry, I'm gonna have to sit this one out. Maybe someone will step up. :dono
How about some of you retirees? Sounds like a great project for someone with extra time on their hands. There will be plenty of help for the person(s) who decide to step up.
I have run two camps and did my part . Be willing to help the person or persons that step up all I can .:biggrin
Lets pick a day in the spring, rent a pavilion at Dardanelle and everyone bring their old stuff and have a "swap meet". We can grill some dogs or have a baloney sammich and tell fish stories. My fish stories will be lies for the most part, so don't expect pictures or any kind of proof.
What would be wrong with another one one Chicot

Sounds great! Thanks Jerry, I knew somebody would step up! What's the date? :Rofl
I work every other weekend as well. But if its on my OFF weekend i will be glad to help! But I will say this every crappie camp in arkansas and mississippi since I have been a member on here has been on a weekend that I am scheduled to work. That sucks for me because Im dying to meet all of you guys! I will bring some or all of my fish if necessary. And if there are some small filets.....lets just say i have been hitting nimrod up! :biggrin
Here's a vote for toad suck...fish Conway, nimrod, brewer, beaverfork, Harris brake, overcup, river, and the best part.......I could sleep in my own bed 5 mins away!!!! And y'all could all store your filets in my freezer (on the halves)
Better find someone to take charge first. It'll be that persons choice of where to have it. It's the Golden Rule thing. [emoji4]
I have held two of the largest spring camps in the state...Me and the angels are willing to do it again But we would like to see one or two headed up by someone else. SO we can set back and enjoy them. Not that we didn't enjoy putting them on. It takes allot of work to put them together right.
CrappiePro, I've been watching the Spring Camp thread and was hoping you would respond. As a native Arkansan ( Go Hogs!) and a transplant Okie (Go Sooners!), I was glad to see a thread of a possible Spring Camp in 2016 and another opportunity to Crappie fish in Arkansas. I was fortunate enough attend the two Spring Camps at Lake Dardanelle that you and the Angels put on and was amazed at the organization and coordination efforts that were required for a successful Camp. After attending the two Spring Camps and seeing how the camps brought together Crappie fisherman and their families from all over Arkansas , my fishing partner and I were inspired to come back to Oklahoma and try to duplicate your efforts. We used your schedule of events and format to organize the first ever Crappie Camp in Oklahoma. We held our first Oklahoma Spring in June of 2014 and had over 130 folks and their families attend! Since then we have had two Fall Camps, one Winter Camp, one Summer Camp, a Spring Camp and are now planning another Winter Camp for February, 2016 and a Geezer Camp. Thanks again for allowing us to use your work and efforts (could you loan us the Angels?).
At both of the Arkansas Spring Camps at Lake Dardanelle, we met some of the best people in this country. I have fond memories of sitting and talking with Billy E's dad...what a great and interesting person. We met and talked with many others, DRPEPPER,Conway, NIMROD and Creekslick to name a few. Also, meeting Billbob from Indiana was an experience to say the least...to our surprise he showed up at our first Camp at Lake Eufaula. Okies weren't too sure how to take him especially after he called all of us Gubers! We survived Billbob.
Hoping that the 2016 Arkansas Spring Camp works out, I plan on attending and am encouraging several other Okies to join me. As with everyone, timing and location will be important. Please excuse the lengthy reply, but I wanted everyone to know how the Arkansas Crappie Camps have influenced the Oklahoma folks.....looking forward to seeing everyone in the Spring....dave
Billy's ok? His dad is better to fish with tho!
Just kidding Billy! Think a lot of both you and pops! Maybe someone will step up on camp? my schedule is to hectic that time of year to even get lucky enough to make one.
Hey Dave Thanks for the post and very touched that our camps inspired you to have your camps in Okie Land. They are a great time for us all to get together and fellowship and share. Hope someone will step up and take the Ball and run with it this year in Arkansas. Those angels sure know how to get it done. They are a great bunch of hard working Gals we could have not made it without them. Got to have a great support staff to run a big crappie camp. LOL
Thanks CP, we will keep watching the Arkansas site and hopefully the Spring Camp will happen. Looking forward to another great Arkansas Camp......dave
