Lake Barkely Report. Good read!
Never caught a single crappie.:bash
When the North Wind Blows....Go home.
But had a blast with my buddy Bill. He and I caught a ton of White Bass.
Fished in Ford's Bay.
I want to say a BIG Thank You to those that warned me about winter pool.
Found areas that went from 15 foot to near dry dock.
In fact, listen to this one. We were the only ones on Ford's Bay. Until a Bass Boat launched
and we watched them fish the shore for a bit then decided it wasn't the place for them. Flew by
us at around 75 feet at high speed. Yep, heading for the river. Well we had scoped out the Bay for shallow
water. They did not. When they hit the mud flat (1 to 2 feet) they came to an abrupt stop. :yikes
When they flew by me I told Bill watch this. They buried the boat. Nice bass boat with larger motor.
No one got hurt or thrown. Buried the motor and was not able to raise the motor. Stuck for sure.
So my buddy Bill says "lets go see if they are alright". I said "yea right". Fly by me that close.
Bill is a retired cop. So we went. Got over by them and asked if they wanted a ride to the shore.
They said no thanks, they called another buddy for help. OK, if you need us we will be right over there
fishing. About an hour later and two long anchor ropes they got pulled out. Was a muddy boat for sure.
Started right up and took off out the river. Never saw them again. I told my buddy Bill that they best be
sure there water pump is working. Since they were alright I told Bill I wished I had a video of that.
I have a flip phone and don't take pictures very well.
So a BIG thank you to those that warned me of low tide.
