Good day for Jackson County lake 10-12-15

No pictures. Got off work a little early so I wanted to head to Perry because I heard the whites were really good.

Saw it was too windy so decided to fish Jackson County lakes which is 10 minutes from my house.

Dropped the boat in at 4 pm and found schools or whites in shallow water. 1-5 ft. Slow retreive casting to the banks. Pretty much just went anywhere the wind pushed waves to the shore and whites were there.

Ended up with 5 big ones and 10 alright ones. ZERO crappie but I figured I fished too shallow to get any.

Off the water by 630 pm and headed home.

Thanks for the kind words. I tried to get out there again yesterday. Got on the water at 4pm and tried the usual spots but didn't find any. (too shallow and not as much wind yesterday) moved around quite a bit and finally figured I was fishing too shallow an hour in. Found them at 530 pm but had to leave at 6 to take the kids out.

I'm hoping to make some time to try Clinton or Perry and hope I can find the schools.

i LIVE BY THE jACKSON COUNTY LAKES WHICH ONE WERE YOU FISHING?

I went to prairie lee monday and tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday tried blue springs for a bit. Blue springs lake i still dont understand. Seems like catching 2 fish there is a good day :)

Never figured it out either.
Went to Blue Springs a few times couple years ago never a nibble.

Dester, try fishing around the no wake buoys in the swim beach cove and boat ramp cove by the dam. Lots of brush around some of them and plenty of fish as a rule. I have caught quite a few fish around them but always on minnows. We catch quite a few in the timbered cove across from the marina cove as well. If it's windy or raining there's always the 4 dollar dock...........Good luck

Im always too lazy to go get live bait when I go fishing. Thats probably why i get skunked so much. I rely pretty much on plastics all the time.

But thanks for the tip. I've been in the cove by the ramp by the dam. Caught a couple crappie in there but it seems tough. Tried around the swim beach area and same thing.. people do tell me that lake works better with minnows.
