Wheres the pics?
4 small ones.... One musky.
Marked a heck of a lot of fish in miidle of lake suspending. Perhaps the crappie are still hanging deep?
Sounds like you should of been pullin Cranks.
I'm thinking we need the master to show us how its done. How 'bout it Wilbur, you up for showing how its done?
I'm going this Sunday to try it. Will give a report back soon. Timmy ask the master how his Crankn numbers were on Shelbyville during fall camp. Lol
I seem to recall they were similar to your numbers. :biggrin
Come to think about it, I think my slip bobber out produced all ya'll. :fish :Rofl
Water is between 58-60 I'm sure the warmer week will change that. Pulling cranks was a waist of time. Fish the south end in shallow water. 2-6 FOW. We didn't take minnows thinking that they wouldn't be a problem getting. We were wrong and no one around the area had them.
Bummer. Thanks for the update though.
Went last weekend and see massive schools in the 19ft range but would not bite jigs. Going to spider rig straight hooks tomorrow. Also going try natural color jigs black n brown style tomorrow. Heard all black was good recently
Buddy I would think the fish (at least some) have got to be on the laydowns there right now. I would target the north end of the lake first and fish laydowns from 1-6ft to start off. Pop corks with jigs under them along the laydowns or go jig em. Its a classic pattern this time of year.
went yesterday. water temp 56. bite has picked up in deep structure. average size is smaller.. not sure if the big ones haven't moved in yet or just a smaller this year.
Fished about 7 hours missed a few caught 1. Massive shad balls and the size is about 3". They are doing the death spirals to the service. Went all the way to dam and recon'ed. Noted a few boats but nothing to talk about everyone north was hitting shore with bobbers or just getting out of the wind. I was spider rigging with wind sock out! Most fish bit on straight hooks vs my custom jigs. water temp 55
I fished the Illinois River today, mostly a cove. Marked a ton of fish. I think most of them were white bass. Managed to catch a few medium sized Crappie. Extremely lite bite. My bobber rig was set so lite the minnow could pull my bobber just under the surface and hold it there. I would have to raise the rod tip to bring the bobber back to the surface every few minutes. Sometimes there was a fish attached.
