On top of us having a bad year as far as talent goes, we lose any home field advantage that might have existed. Many thanks to you folks for such magnanimous gestures. You are the best.

"South Carolina was forced to move Saturday’s game against LSU from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C. to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. after devastating flooding struck the area last week. All revenue minus expenses will go to South Carolina because it is technically a Gamecocks home game, but LSU has made plenty of other warm gestures to make South Carolina feel at home on Saturday.

During his radio show, South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier said that the team will travel to and from Baton Rouge on LSU’s United Airlines charter plane.

LSU is also trying to make South Carolina players and fans feel welcome on game day. The LSU marching band will play South Carolina’s fight song and alma mater during pregame warm-ups on Saturday. Students from both universities will take part in a ceremony prior to Saturday’s game, where LSU students will hand the keys to Tiger Stadium over to student representatives from South Carolina. LSU will also be offering a tailgate that includes free food and beverages for Tigers fans and any Gamecocks fans who made the trip.

No matter the result, LSU and South Carolina are making the best out of an unfortunate situation."

We pride ourselves on southern hospitability, a big thumbs up to LSU and the staff there!

I got a pot full of very slow roasted brisket(the fat end) shreaded in a black iron pot with its natural juices. French dip sammies for the game so wet we put em in a bowl and eat em with a spoon:biggrin Geaux Tigers!!:cheers2

One more good will gesture:

Leonard Fournette ran for 158 yards and one touchdown on Saturday against South Carolina, but it was what he did after the game that truly exemplified his incredible character.

Fournette announced in a statement that he wants to auction off his jersey from Saturday’s 45-24 victory over the Gamecocks with the proceeds going toward helping the people of South Carolina who are dealing with floods that devastated the area last week. Here’s what Fournette said to ESPN’s Quint Kessenich after the game:

“I want to send my prayers, condolences and empathy to the people of South Carolina,” Fournette said. “What they are going through reminds me of what we went through, my people of New Orleans, La., went through 10 years ago with Hurricane Katrina… I would like to auction off my game jersey, as is, to the highest bidder to help out the relief efforts. People of Louisiana not only care, but know firsthand what South Carolina are going through.”

Kessenich followed up with Fournette and asked him why he thought that was the right thing to do.

“It’s the best thing to do, man,” Fournette said. “I know what we went through for Katrina and they’re going through something similar. It’s a hard thing to go through and I have faith that they’re going to bounce back from it.”
