That usually means they are catching them cause they aren't on here telling stories lol. Headed down Friday night let you know Sat afternoon
I almost posted the same question LOL. Who's got some info! I'll be down Thursday night.
Lots of fish moving around and I believe you can catch them a multitude of ways right now. I got out Sunday evening and had a limit in under an hour using.... JIGS! I was fishing structure in 4-8fow. Ill be out guiding thursday and will try and post back with how the day went.
Thanks birdman! We always appreciate your input! Good luck Thursday!
I was out Sunday morning. It was like fishing in a well-stocked minnow tank. Zillions of shad everywhere. How do you compete with that? The only place I caught fish was where I did not see herds of bait fish. There can't be a hungry fish in the lake with those easy pickins. No limit here, not even close. Book with birdman, he can find 'em.
The crappie are on the move. North end water clarity not good in places. Got those brown streaks in it. Go south and go shallow with a jig and cork. Had a Herman and his son out for Herman's birthday over the weekend. He is confined to a wheelchair so we took out the float boat to have more room for everybody. We caught fish all day on minnows and jigs under corks without trolling motor, depth finder or GPS. Kind of makes me wonder if you need all that fancy stuff until we went out in my guide boat the next day with another client and got our limit in 11 min. 18 seconds..lol. Haven't seen a lot of boats out the last few days until today. Thought I seen fishk3 today at the ramp when we were taken out.
I am obviously doing something wrong. I could not a limit in 11 minutes and 18 seconds even if I was fishing with dynamite!
That's some serious action at over 2 fish a minute if that's true. Better than me!
Ken that is some serious action,,that has to be some kinda record,,junkyard??
Toad the world record is 8 min. 22.32 seconds. We have been close with our best time at 9 min. 43 seconds.. Yep junkyard!! Thanks for the tip and waypoints. We'll leave a few for you and Wilbur when you get down for camp.:ThumbsUp
Great Job Ken as usual. Keep it up an you will be #1 guide on the lake.
Man I gotta find this junk yard LOL
Ken I'm thinking about just leaving my boat at home and hitching a ride with you,,Wilbur is gonna pay you to teach me all your secrets..now your already getting the deer salami so what's the remaining balance?
It was a pretty fun day today. We fished south on the lake today and found depths of 6-12ft to be the best for us. I used a jig almost all day and caught the bigger fish on it compared to the minnows the clients were using, but they caught more fish with the minnows. I have no shame though that thump felt great! I worked stumps, laydowns and brush piles in the depth range and you can expect to catch about 5-10 from a spot before needing to move on. Water temps were 73 this morning and I went back out to scout a different area of the lake this afternoon and found temps around 77. Lakes starting to turn over in areas.
I'm four hours away but I'll be down trying to get it done tomorrow morning and Saturday. I'll give an update each day.
Birdman, Are you talking about the west bank with the big field of standing timber across from the beach at wilborn?
I'm thinking there is a bunch of misinformation going on here about the junk yard that is giving people the wrong impression of what is going on at the ville and where the fish might be at.
:popcorn
Thats where we are talking about. You just gotta be careful in there. I told Steve where it was.
must br 500 old bikes in the junkyard also.
I have a feeling that this Junk yard thing will live on longer than most of us,,I love the comments,,This mystery fishing spot has everyone confused even myself because I thought I have been fishing it the last 3 times I've been down there and it must really be Party Cove...:fish:cheers2
Toad you better buy a new map party animal. Now i see why you want to go to that same cove, it's party cove:Rofl
thanks for the reports. Do the brown streaks indicate mixing of different layers of water and beginnings of turnover?
Had a great day on the water yesterday. The fish were in the grave yard today.. went to the Junk yard first and the water is turning over so it will be done for awhile. If you look close in the background up in the woods you can see part of a tombstone.. this is a great fall spot. We stayed there all afternoon in the shade. Took all day to get our limit. Lot of short fish.
Your killing me Fishfryed. Boy and I went out got skunked. Sure would like to get him on some fish n the morning
John and Sara are buried on that hill. I won't tell you the last name though!!!
they lost a daughter who was barely 16. I pay my respects every year in the spring
Definitely a good fall spot until the word gets out that they're biting there, then you cant hardly ever go there and not find a boat. You rascal.
