I was surprised when Nebraska supposedly offerred Nutt a job before they hired Bill Callahan. The rumor was always there that Nutt used this NU 'offer' for leverage to better his contract with the Razorbacks. It was rumored that Nutt was at the Lincoln airport....but we have had all kinds of rumors in Lincoln....like Steve Spurrier was looking for a house in South Lincoln, etc. Anyway, glad the the nutman was not hired in Lincoln!
Good luck with your petition!
You guys should have a good season next year..With the A-state transefer and M. Lucky and B Jackson and the other 2 RB's coming back and Purify...Things look great for you guys!
Us on the other hand....
would you play for Nutt? would you coach for Nutt? Hooston, we have a problem here.
Yes, things at NU are looking up. The fans are so supportive and a little crazy but always respect the other team.
The recruiting has been so much better than the Solich era, but it looks like Brandon Jackson is leaning toward the NFL. He has had a lot of injuries, especially shoulder and broke a finger in the Big 12 Conference Championship game. There are over 1800 posters on the Huskersillustrated site right now as he was supposed to declare this afternoon.
They have the 3 backs that you mentioned and a great RB Quentin Castille from Texas that may play a lot as a freshman. The offensive line is finally getting better, but the defensive front has to be replaced. Sam Keller coming in from Arizona State has only one year but he was the Q Back on the scout team, so he should come in with good knowledge of the W C Offense. Zac lee, a JC recruit comes in with 4 years to play 3 and might be the QB of the future.
Well now the KnuckleHead has ran off Mustain + Mahlzahn.
I wish Nutt would leave and I could send flowers to Frank Broyles funeral. Until both are dead or gone the Hogs are going to be ok at best.
I think some of us posters on Hogville is trying to get a full page ad in the AR Dem Gaz on Friday or Sunday..They are taking donations to try and do this The add on Friday would be around $11,000, and the add on sunday will be around $15,000 we think that with as many that reads that message board it should'nt be a problem..people are donating $500 a pop just to try to get this noticed...
What in the sam hill is "hogville" and are you planning on posting the ad in the obituaries cause that program is dead?

Boomer Sooners better crow while they can cause the NCAA is going to bury them after the investigation of the Big Red dealership. You know if OU gets hammered as they should, and Arkansas looses face (they already have), Tulsa may get a little better recruits from in state that want to stay close to home but dont want to play at either of those problem plagued programs.Quote:

i personally don't think we lost much.
I agree to a certian extent as I don't think Mustain will ultimately be a great QB. However we did loose the respect of recruits as we are the laughing stock of the SEC with all the drama. We also loose recruits due to the evidence that Arkansas is not going to spread the feild and throw the ball, and that our coaching staff lies to get players. I realize that all coaches and teams do (they lied to me when I was recruited) but now other coaches have documented proof of Nutts lies and will use that when we are head to head recruiting.
Also I am not impressed at all with Coach Lee. Remember him the offensive coordinator who's first tenure ended when Arkansas had 34 total yards against UCLA in the Cotton Bowl? Or perhaps his finest moment was the fine offensive preformance agianst Minnesota in the Music City Bowl (less than 150 yards total offense). Lee knows how to work with Frank and knows that its Franks way or the highway so he will workout just fine.
Man been a hog fan for years but they have folded down the strech for the last time with me on the bandwagon. 30 years of failure and mediocracy at best is enough for me.

Nutt and Broyles = Meritocracy at best
I hear today that Mustain will be taking a visit to Oklahoma. Think he will end up in Tulsa, following his high school coach again. Only problem is that in Tulsa there may not be a car dealership that Mitch could make any money at. No Stoops, no snoops.
I would not like Mitch Mustain at my school. He would be an extreme interupption to any team. His mother seems to be more meddling than Harrison Beck's mom was at Nebraska. She thought that Harrison was the Marino, Unitas, et al wrapped in one.....hey Mitch may just fit in at Sooner U!
Matter of fact, I was an aide in teaching Mr. Mustain how to throw the football, seeing how I was a full-ride scholarship QB to Oklahoma I would say he's had some fine coaching along the way. Mustain's mom is the epitimy of "should've kept your mouth shut"....however, do not discredit someone who was lied to (by Nutt)....he was promised the spread offense (which he grew up in) courtesy of Gus and they have taken that away b/c Nutt is just that....Nutt's....as for the Big Red Dealership, I would pay them too if I got the chance, are you going to tell me that boosters across the nation do not ALL do this? You are wrong if that's your belief, it happens EVERYWHERE...most just don't get caught until they are in the national spotlight. BOOMER SOONER!Quote:

It's frustrations like these that make the Hogs the laughing stock of the SEC, the prime location for recruiting, the legend and history of a school with GREAT rivalry, and known all-time for being a winning team, yet their head coach starts each season hoping for "above .500" or "a bowl game would be nice"....get REAL, if you want to win, you have to set your goals high enough to do so....like BOISE STATE for instance, =). They were not going to lose to OU, they sought out to win, not appear and be done with it. They did just that.Quote:

What year were you a full-ride scholarship QB to Oklahoma? And where did you have the opportunity to teach Mr. Mustain how to throw the football? And how did you have that same opportunity to teach him if you were at OU and he was at Arkansas? I agree that ALL boosters in D1 football (and basketball) across the nation would LIKE to do 'all this'. But the burden is on the university to police their and the NCAA's policies whether they be right or they be wrong. Some universities are good at this, some are either not so good or have a tendency to 'blink. OU has a lohg history of blinking.
