Does east wind hurt fall crappie fishing on big 4 in Miss?
If it's much over 8 mph it will hurt you on 3 out of the four, you won't care if the fish are biting. Have caught a lot of fesh with an East wind, getting in fishable water is more of an issue than the bite is for me.
East is least most of the time.

Oh the folly of youth, those that ignore history are doomed to repeat it.
Lest you forget:
Wind from the West, fish bite the best.
Wind from the East, fish bite the least.
Wind from the North, do not go forth.
Wind from the South blows bait in their mouth.
Fish are like people
They eat every day
Don't matter the wind
Go fish anyway.
On a related issue (maybe)...when do the begin to pull the lakes down, or has it started??
