Only place to get launch/ramp permit that will be convenient for you is at the DNR office at the main gate. I assume you are getting off at the Tell City/French Lick exit. Follow 145 North until you see 164 turn to the left, you will see the lake start as soon as you need to turn. Take 164 up the hill a mile or so and turn right onto 221/27. You will see the DNR office on your right before going through the gates into the park. You can also get your fishing license there, but if you need bait I suggest Poor Boys on 145, before you get to the lake. You can't miss them on the right hand side of the road.
I am not for sure, but I think the DNR office might be closed on Sundays.
it is closed on sundany\open mon-fri 9 -4
Thank you guys for your help. That will save me some running around.
They main office IS OPEN on Sundays 8-4.
Is the DNR office the only place you can purchase the boat stickers??
State forest offices, DNR offices,,if you buy it online at dnr's website,,they will smak you with a 4 buck mailing fee just to stick it in a envelope
If you are from out of state with your states stickers on your boat do you need a Indiana launch permit? Cannot believe you would have to buy annual permit for a few days fishing have fished in many states with my boat and have been checked many time and never questioned about that states permits except fishing license
went to a tournement at Monroe one time and saw them turn away a boat that had no launch permit on it. You diffinately need the IN permit
Yep...if your out of state,,ya gots to have the launch permits..and they are darned hard to find a place that sells them in late fall and early spring when all the state parks and state dnr's cut back on being open especially on a Sunday. Most offices are closed on weekends in early spring and late fall and winter. I was at a BMV one time, on a Sat. morning getting plates,,and a couple of guys towing a bass boat, pulled up from ILL. and were looking for launch permits for wanting to fish Patoka and SOL on finding them on a weekend early spring last yr. Fine for not having them is about 150 bucks too.
If your from out of state,,and have the time to have them mailed to you,,here is website to mail order them but they charge 4 bucks I think mailing fee for the launch permits.
DNR: Boating Fees
Hoosier hills marina has them. $28.00
