Lexington area CDC lunch together

On occasion I have met with several of our CDC guys here in the Lexington/Columbia area for lunch in the past and it has always been fun meeting new members and catching up with old friends. Today, Sinkermaker, Gerald Cromer an I got together for a hot dog and some fishing tales.

I noticed we have picked up several new members in this area in the past few months. How would you guys feel about meeting for lunch once a month? Nothing formal, just come if you can. How would a Friday work for everyone, say the 4th Friday of each month?
Of course anyone is welcome to join us, regardless of where you live. Let me know your thoughts and if there is enough interest I will pick a place and we can go from there.

I'm in...only problem is I do service work so never know where I'm gonna be for the day! but I should be able to make one every once in a while.

yeah, I'd be in for some... if I'm not fishing friday's are my day off for the week... but I'd like to meet and if you see me you'll know I can eat: :)

I am in but I also fish a lot on Friday with my partner in crime big time at lake greenwood as he is still working and off on Friday.

Oh yeah ! Sounds good to me. Once we get settled in here it would be nice to meet with all the locals if the fish aren't biting !

Thought I'd see how much interest there was and them post a date giving all a week or more to plan. I was thinking about Friday week, Sept 25. I will put up a new post later this week with details. Still waiting to see if a few more are interested.

Ray, I wouldn't mind trying to get down there some time. Maybe get Remus or John to go. Wylie is now pretty bad for getting a boat on the water. Unless you have a place on the river with a boat on the water or a way to put one in is about the only way to fish it. So it's likely we could make a trip down that way. Who knows! :highfive

Dawg if you want to come down we can get together and plan a short fishing trip the morning we are planning on getting together. We can try the striper or crappie on Murray until lunch time anytime you want. Keep in touch

OK guys, seems like we have a good bit of interest, even a side fishing trip in the making. Lets plan for Friday Sept 25 at 1 o'clock at Creekside Restaurant in Lexington. I was going to say 12 but if some of the guys are going to be on the water that morning, 1 will give them more time to get in. They are located at 711 East Main Street, which is also US Hwy 1 on the east side of Lexington. Here is a link to their website. They have a good choice of meals, sandwiches, salads and breakfast all day as well.

Sounds great Ray, Friday is usually fishing day, but I'm certain I would be able to make a lunch on occasion. I won't be at the first one as I will be at Edisto all next week.

Sounds good Tim. Edisto was one of our favorite places to go in the fall and winter when we had our camper. One Christmas when the kids were both at their in-laws for Christmas we spent the whole week camped right on the beachfront. Sadly that campsite and several more have been lost to erosion.

Kind of tricky navigating to their menu so here is a direct link. Their prices are very reasonable, a meat and two veggies and biscuit is $6.75.

Hey you local guys, can you make it???
So far I have Don, Gerald, Me and then the fearsome threesome from Wylie if they decide to come. Need to know so I can let Creekside know. They will set us up in a private area once I have a number. If we can get a good group together I have a neat idea for a future one. (Hint: It involves fishing and eating on the lake,or actually beside it)

its raining and "sweetie" said her new floor would not be messed up == no way == so I'm off for the day and I will be there

Hey Robert, I guess you will come down I77. If so take I20 West and exit on Highway 1(Exit 58) to Lexington. When you come in a couple of miles watch for the road to go from 4 lanes to 2. Get in inside lane around the first stop light you come to so you won't have to fight for a space to merge.
Anyway, right after it goes to 2 lanes, you will cross a bridge and the restaurant is on your left in "The Old Mill" bldg. (It was named Creekside for a reason.)There are 3 parking lots you can use, I'd suggest the 2nd one which is right by the building, but any of them are fine.
