Well sure you can!!! You can report about all your fishing.
I've only been living on Murray for four months. Rango (The best fisherman I ever wet a hook with) and I used to fish Wateree really hard in May, June, October, November, and December. We caught a lot of stripers. Year to year, we almost knew where the fish were going to be on any given day. Murray is so much bigger than Wateree it's gonna take me some time to try to figure this lake out.
David when you figure them out call me I'll man the oars for you while you catch them.:biggrin
you got it
IVE GOT A FEW HOT SPOTS ON MURRAY
WE'LL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO
WHERE DO YOU LIVE
Off hi way 378 just past the Jake Knotts bridge in Hammock Bay.
I'll be down there come nov, I fish for them every year.
David, sounds like you need to hurry up and locate some stripers. You can set up a day trip with your locals and the rest of us will have to convoy down there. I know ofishlbizzness will go and I'm sure Remus will jump on board for a trip. Get busy engineman and set it up. I can go almost any Wednesday, any week of the month and weekends that I'm off. :popcorn
Going to try the stripers on Murray tomorrow and see if I can locate them. They are in what is called the big pool area that is from Spence island to the dam. A lot of fisherman are catching them by finding schools and ripping a large spoon through the fish. I am hearing reports of limits being caught in 30 minutes. Never done this but going to give it a try. Will be glad when they start moving back up the lake. Anybody want to join me in a striper trip pm me. Don
Wednesdays are good for me too. Keep us posted.
I'm off till Oct 5. Putting new roof on bldg.. so I can store all my gear. Wife wanting
To trash it..
Stripers were schooling and busting the surface hard chasing shad yesterday in June Creek and Beaver Creek...saw 4 big schools come up around us while we were Catfishing, also still saw a couple of floaters, water should be cooling down good now and O2 levels getting back to normal soon
I'm going Friday! That is if my wife forgets about the Greek Festival for Friday.
Mark, I am going Friday also. Jeff and I are going to see if the Shell Cracker bite has picked up. I also rigged up the Mother of all Perch rigs so if I get a chance to try it I will post results. We plan to fish Bear Creek. If the wind is an issue I will put in at Epting Landing. I learned my lesson with a stick steer on Murray when the wind is blowing a few weeks ago. Rattled my brains and a few fillings loose.
Sounds great Ray will keep you posted about Friday. Yesterday I was using med size minnows but I guess I should have gotten small because they were tapping them on the tail. Should I stay with the med?
I would, better chance of a Stiper and big perch or crappie will readily eat a medium. Sounds like you got into a school of small perch, which will drive you crazy. That is when a jig comes in handy.
I will stick with the mediums. Thanks for the info Ray.
My Striper fishing buddy Ron Whilden and I are fishing The Striped Bass Challenge on December 5th. We are Team ReservoirStripers.com. I'm guessing Murray will see a lot of folks pre-fishing for this event in Oct and Nov. I know we are planning to make a few trips down and look around. This will be a big event, prob biggest freshwater Striper tourney I've seen. Hope Murray can handle the crowd!
