Those who use road runner do you prefer the pro series or no preference???
I use road runners a lot, but wasn't aware there was pro series. I may have to check those out. In the meantime I have had lots of luck with the regular ones, their one of my favorite baits of all time.
X 2
they are great
They have the 2.0 series which carries a variety of colors with the willow blade, which is what I prefer in dirty water, the they also have the walleye glow heads with willow blade, that now come with barbs for hollow tube baits. I like to use the bigger, standard roadrunner with the nickel plated blade in the colder months, when I slow down my speed, it gives more of a slower but bigger flash and vibration.
Do run tandem off a three way swivel?
Like a crappie rig set up? Trying to step up my game and catch larger fish more consistent. ..
You can vertical jig or bobber fish a single jig, or sometimes I'll troll a roadrunner on bottom and a plain book with shiner or a hair jig tipped with a shiner up top
What speed do you think work at the certain times of year? I have been .03-.08 this summer depending on whether I'm working a structure or edge.
Just have to play with the speeds, see what they want
I have been working on different speeds, but when ever I go 20 MPH I keep breaking rod tips.. lol
Now you tell me....
Thanks Wannabe..
Speed is also relevant to the depth of your baits also. Faster trolling will mean shallower running especially if using lighter baits.
I have had pretty good luck trolling road runners anywhere from 1.3 to 1.5 mph it seems like
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Time will tell if its a winner for me..
