Yes Sir it does. I have seen 1 inch using middle of the scale settings. I don't have any snapshots though.
So far it won't on my 999.
I have dropped a few PVC structures and I cannot see them on the sonar due tot he fact that there is not any air trapped in the PVC to give you a digital signature. Not like wood the PVC is not solid and does not throw back a solid ping like air bladders in fish or solid wood or rock objects. Some can "reset" their sonars to find them but you usually do not keep the settings at the extreme all the time to find PVC. I do look for square blocks as I have been able to see the anchor blocks on sonar and use them to guide me to the structure.
I have made some pvc structures using 3-4 inch with 3/4 limbs, they show up in 2d and SI. Some times on SI you don't see the actual structure but see the shadow. Next time I'm fishing that bay I will post screenshots.
Thanks for all the answers, I'm trying to decide whether to start sinking PVC or stick with Bamboo when I get my Helix 7 SI.
I have found that natural cover tends to hold more fish than pvc in the lakes I fish. But I also believe location is just as important as the material.
I put out a lot of pvc. I relocate it if necessary. Here HDS8 side shot of the coffee can condo I placed somewhere near.

I put the single condo out for "target" practice. I usually put them in groups of 5-7.
Interesting... The cubes I saw did have algae on them. I saw them on si and di.
Nice condo's Cane Pole! I've thought about getting some of the PVC cores they sell online but they are a bit pricey.
Blackhawk,
My H7is being installed now. I am really looking forward to seeing how it performs. They sure look like great units!
Good luck with it, I've had my 7si out one time and enjoyed it, I just need to tweek the setting some and learn to read what I'm seeing :-)))
I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE SAYING CAME FROM THAT U CAN'T SEE PVC BUT ONLY AIR IN IT,I POSTED SOME PICS ON HERE 2YEARS AGO OF EVERY PIPE ON THE PVC .IT HAD BEEN THERE A LONG TIME . ALSO SOME SAY ONLY SEE AIR BLATTER ON FISH BUT THAT IS NOT SO EITHER BECAUSE ON BIG FISH U CAN SEE THE SHAPE OF THE FISH AND NOT HIS BLATTER
These are pvc beds.both sides ..http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps6bhoozbv.png
Great shots fellas... Thanks
Ive drilled holes in the pvc and used strands of wire and tie 3 or 4, 20 oz drink bottles on a few to help me locate them it seems to work
Great pictures, thanks!
If you use PVC pipe, I've found that dropping a stick of Rebar inside a couple pieces of your pipe makes it easier to see on imaging. But just remember - what's easy for you to see is easy for everybody else to see also!!
Here is a shot of some pvc beds I've made. Notice how you see the shadow but not the bed itself on the ones to the side.
