Sorry but I won't be able to make it. My slow trek South starts the following week. Save me some fish though! I may very well be at Talquin along with Shu on the 24th, we sill see. That's should be the last leg of my trek. Then I'll be a full time Floridian. Fair warning.

Not fishing, but was thinking of making the trip up, just to meet some of you folks. Looks like you're going to fish and git! :biggrin

Think I'll wait, do you ever have a get together where you have a fish fry later, maybe a meet and greet?

Yes sir they do Marv.

Slabfest's are posted when they have a meal -open discussion after weigh in.
Lot of times they will have a "pitch in type set up" everyone brings something,
fish are filet that were caught that day and/or filets that have been thawed out
from previous trips are used in to speed up time needed to prepare meal.
Read up on previous Slabfests will give you some insight.

Might want to reconsider going to Monroe - this year October 3rd. and attending
just to meet a lot of guys & gals that are on CdC.

Pull the boat over and go fishing. Great lake for longlining and timing should be close to perfect. There will be plenty of us there to help if needed, and just have to follow about anyone around the corner to the pile of boats.

Thanks, but I don't like being on I-4 with just the car, talk about hauling an old boat.

Even though I have replaced the tires and just did the wheel bearings, just don't feel right with the 12" tires!! I used to have a Polaris ATV and trailer had 15" tires, no problem going 70-80, of course had a bigger tow vehicle back then. This is why I'm fishing Lakes close by to Lakeland, where I can avoid the Fast Lane so to speak.

Besides I'm still in the learning stages of trying to catch these Crappies. LOL

When fishing Monroe - i have stayed in past at the
Deltona Inn
481 Deltona Ave
Deltona, Fl
386 860-3000

They are located at next ramp east of 104 ramp exit on I-4.
McDonalds on corner and several other places close by.

Plenty of parking by room - security was good = fenced area
Put boat next to room in for safety

If a cabin at Blue Spring is available that would be ideal. But Deltona Inn aint a bad choice only due to fencing.

not aware of "Blue Cabin" Mike - know nothing of it..............

Deltona Inn i liked because of fencing around it - kinda protected the boat and
equipment for walking off - ya know

Blue Springs State Park hss cabins. Seperate from camping and public areas. Kinda tucked away and hidden. That would be the best if available.

Ok, give me the skinny. Start time, weigh in time, and so on. The other woman still isn't legal and the boss wants me there but I really want to throw caution to the wind and go. Maybe I can make weigh in if nothing else.

No fishing rules....weigh-in time 1:00-1:30PM Split the hoopty for five heaviest fish weight.....1st place 50% 2nd place 30% third place 20%. Big fish.... wins the BF pot. In addition Stu and DRIRITE will give away a $50 gift card for the heaviest five fish weighed in. The fruit jar is $10 per entry ( boat or individual) and $5 for big fish...you don't have to enter the fruit jar to win the $50 gift card.

Anybody want to add anything feel free to do so.
