It works great for the way I fish. There are so many times I have a limb or a snag come inside of the boat or hit the back end of the boat causing me to change direction. There are times I want to rest the back end of my boat on a snag to keep me placed perfectly for a few moments. There is no way I could do this with the rod racks I have seen. I wrap all my rods in a matter if seconds and strap them in. It's worked for me and was cheap, but if I planned to fish nothing but open water like most, I would go for a nice rack like EZ makes.
