will find out soon enough,
my problem is i have tons of jigs now and not enough time to test and lose them
Great looking tie.
Nice I like the color combo.
Nice tye!
Most all tyers have that problem of a lot of jigs and not enough time to use them. :ThumbsUp
Looks good
Lookin good

Nice colors and should catch some crappie! Good job, but one tip if you will.

Looks like it will work fine to me. When I started I took chart and about every other color I had and gave em a spin. I liked some better than others but the fish pretty much liked em all at one point or another. Where you fish will dictate which ones work best and then you'll get confidence in one over the others and you're set. Have fun with it.....Skeet.
Here is a mix I did something a few years ago. I also did the Bitch Creek Tiger Weave on the body. Not one I like tying a lot of though, LOL!

Dang I didn't finish that did I, LOL? Duh moment sorry! With marabou I don't use the tips much at all on my regular tying of marabou. I tear off the barbules and stack them until I have enough, then pinch, cut off end I don't want and tie in. I d save all my tips in a bag inside he bag I keep the supply of that color. At some point I will use the tips on some small jigs where I just use tips.
Now don't get me wrong and think I never use a tip in a crappie jig because I do on maybe 5% of all the marabou jigs I tie. I only use them if the stem is so very thin that I don't feel it will hamper action at all. So look at that little slid show I made and watch for the stack and absence of a tip.

thanks,
i'll try and remember for next time but i get my stuff out so rarely i may forget

I reread your comments again this morn and I get it now. You leave the tips off because you feel the stem allows less movement in the hair and that makes perfect sense to me now.
Here's what i did on some jigs, as crazy as it may be.
I got a whole marabou feather , tie in the last little bit for the jig tail, then wrap the rest of the feather up towards the eye of the hook, come back and whip it down with the thread and go back towards the hook bend with the thread. Then I come in with chenille and wrap that up to the eye.
My point in all this is to beef up the body of the jig. My chenille never looks full enough to me unless I do something like that. I guess I could go over and over it with chenille to thicken it.
thanks,
Not crazy at all and is another way to tie marabou. Matter of fact a couple months ago a guy sent me some materials he didn't think he would ever use and in there was some mini marabou. So I took one of the feathers and tied this little Roadrunner to show him and others what you can do with these little feathers. Here is a Pic!
