Tough weekend of fishing.
Fished some of Friday and all day Saturday at least between storms. Had to set out a couple times for a few hours to let the lightning pass. Friday was tough for sure only caught 2 that morning, but went back out around 4:30 and fished about 3 more hours. Wasn't catching them as I expected trolling cranks fishing around 9' deep. Finally decided that maybe they weren't that deep when the wind calmed down and I noticed a lot of shad on the surface. But fishing so shallow put my cranks so close to the boat and I think the boat was spooking them. So I decided to use planer boards to get them away from the boat. I also thought it would probably be a disaster using them in so many stumps. It wasn't easy, but it was the ticket. Started catching some within 5 minutes of getting the first one out. Didn't get to fish them very long till I had to go. Saturday the weather was tough. But my better half stuck it out with me and we finished the weekend with 24 many of which were really nice. Sorry for the ice chest picture, by the time I get home sometimes it's too late to mess with a tail gate picture.Attachment 208331Attachment 208330Attachment 208329Attachment 208332

Nice job budro. Those planers work all the time. The better fish seem to have learned to avoid boats. They get very sensitive to the boat especially when they're shallow in the water column.
It is tough running multiple boards on each side unless your partner knows how to help you shuffle them. I run 6 (3 on each side) at times by my self. It's a challenge for sure.
If the stumps are a bit scattered, it isn't to bad running cranks through them. The lip bounces off of them pretty good if they aren't to limby.
