So a few months back I ordered a new positive battery cable harness for my truck due to bad corrosion that t kept coming back. It had obviously leached up under the sheathing. Since I was off work Friday I decided to get at it. Stopped by napa on Thursday and put two new batteries in. While I was tearing the old one out (not fun at all) I decided what the heck might as well put a 140 amp alternator on as well (stock is too small anyway only 110 amp) order it and pick it up in Memphis the next day. Luckily the day before Big C was by the house and gave me a hand getting the belt off (it has a kickstand on the tensioner and he's taller and stronger than me) and again luckily he dropped by again yesterday (again he's taller and stronger) so alternator on, new cable ran, and hooking up the wires to the starter and oooops stud broke. Take starter off get a new reman, put it on, hook up wires, broke stud again, take it back, they give me a NEW one, put it on, hook up wire, and she lives. Not bad for a few days of fun.
So as always a simple battery cable change resulted in a cable, batteries, alternator, and starter. Nothing like a fully new system [emoji1]
