That place looks very nice, a rental? Or your place? Only asking because I'm interested. Thanks.
Been swimming With the family all afternoon. Got some more work done on the trailer while the boat is unloaded. Hope to get to try the catfish tonight.Attachment 207750Attachment 207751
One of the new cottages at the park. They also have the regular cabins. All are the same price 65-00 per day. But with the cottage you have bring your own linens. 2 bedrooms. .Attachment 207764Attachment 207766Attachment 207767Attachment 207769
Crappiemaniac, thanks for the reply. Have a link or phone number I can acquire about? Thanks again, pm if you prefer.
Randy.....Its JP Coleman state park at Pickwik......you can find a link to it on the state website Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, & Parks
Thats not a bad price $65.00 a day most cabins etc. are over a $100.00 a day at most places. Nice catch thanks for sharing the pictures.
Thanks G. Just checked it out. No well behaved Labs allowed there. Oh well. I guess that's why we always venture into Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma. Folks there are friendly. Ann has suggested about getting a small camper to pull behind her Jeep because she knows I want to come over there. I'll pull the boat, because we never go anywhere without the boat. That's the reason we sold our camper many years ago. Thanks for your thought.
Thats just the way the parks are in ms
Okay, just checking once again because I was curious over there. My license plate on my truck:

Check out the shell cracker on the left.Attachment 207879
I've fished Pickwick probably 15 times or so. The one thing you can be sure of, is you never know what you might catch next!!
We pulled a all nighter and fished out on main river from 9:00 last night until 830 this morning. I'm guessing we ended up with around 30 nice catfish. My son is headed back home with the boat now and will send.me picture of fish when he empties the cooler. I am staying another day with my wife and daughter. Here are some pictures of the river last night and at Daybreak this morning.Attachment 207933Attachment 207934Attachment 207935
I also caught a rod and reel from the bottom of the river that ended up being a hammer rod and shimano baitcaster. Rod is in good shape, with line, hook, and lead still attached but the reel is full of mud. Snagged it while in 30 ft of water while drifting.
Love it over there during the full moon!!!!!!!!!!
How deep were you catching the catfish? Were you in the main river channel? I'll be there In the morning launching at Eastport just down from JP. I'll be pulling cranks by myself
Most we're caught off steep ledges.
