Lake level is 625. That is 19 ft. above normal pool. Reports are it will go to 630 ft. Well so much for summer fishing. Might be good this fall.

Wont be able to say the lake was fished hard this summer.
Lake is at 628 today. On the water at 4:45 A.M and off at 1:00. Pushed and pulled cranks all morning w/ planers and ScottV's inline weights (awesome!). Fish were stacked at 12-15' but not really feeding hard. Kept 15 nice fish with a bunch of throwbacks. Water lice rolled in and we rolled out.
Summertime fishing is still here and should get better.
Will post a shot of my daughter with a few shortly.

way to get em , cant wait to see the results
Tried pulling crankbaits over on the middle fork arm for the first time. Did not catch anything. I also didn't see many on finder. The thermalcline sure was visible in most areas. Trolled over a flat and then the main channel. Located 3 large groups of catfish. Rt.U what kind of water did you find fish in?
Hey Stoney,
We stayed away from the rivers because of how hard they have been running over the past week....not surprised that you fought it. The only clean water we found was around the Spaulding beach area and the dam (hence battling the pleasure boaters).
I'm thinking I need to change hooks out on the arkies we were pushing. Lost a LOT of fish on our pushing poles that I think the smaller hooks ripped through. Water was clean enough to where I saw a pushing pole bounce with a bite, grabbed it and felt the fish get off. Pulled the crank up to check it and had another crappie attack it on the surface (lost him too).
Picture of "Alivia's favorites"......she picked these two out of the bucket before we cleaned them back at my parent's house. Not trophy's by any stretch of the imagination but we were happy given the state of the lake.

Good job!
great pic, big guy! glad you are still putting them in the boat. seems like there are still a few fish in the lake, after all!
personaly, I hope they keep it a little high this summer. seems to me, 4 or 5 summers ago we had similar water levels. fairly normal (606') the first part of spring then a big wet spell and the lake went in the 620's then went down to about 615 and stayed there for several weeks. the shad spawned like crazy and crappies were feeding shallow every time there was a shad hatch. man that was a fun summer!
Lake is 629.4 and still rising, haven't been out for awhile.
I saw you guys fishing around Spaulding when we put it. We ran up lick creek and tried some minnow fishing in the trees but it was a dink fest. We were going to try up the north fork of the lake but it was too muddy and full of debris. Trolled some cranks around the timbered bluffs between Robert allen and ray Behrens and marked quite a few fish but nothing of any size wanted to eat it seemed like.
It was decent around Robert/Ray (considering the lake is 20 ft high) Lick creek was some of clearest water we found. We didn't run up really high though, I am sure far enough up it would be a mess. I would have stopped over but had the wife and parents with and they were ready to fish not listen to me talk to a "stranger"
Robbie and your dad I think that would be the best stop I made. :highfive
Ripn, Southie,
I think you've both been drinking..........heavily.
:cheers2
