Just took some ideas and made my own minnow cooler. Now no more waiting on bait shops.

Good looking set up. Should keep them lively
Looks good, how cool are you keeping them?
If they start turning up you'll need to plastic coat that aluminum.
That's real nice! Like that a lot.
Just like a water spray for a pool cools the water so does the one I made using the pvc pipe that shoots streams of water cools the tank.
Been going on 3 months and they do just fine
I had a 7 cu ft chest freezer to go out on me. I washed it 4 times, added frebreeze, couldn't get the odor out. I would need it to chill the water too since it will be sitting on my back porch.
I have a 55 gal barrel set up with 15 ft coil of 1/2" hose in the freezer/frig next to it, could get the water to cool 12 degree cooler than outside temp.
The spray head really reduces the water temps. You be surprised.
The water was filtered and pumped at 2/3s depth of the barrel. It went through about 5 foot of hose to the coil in the freezer. Then back about 3 foot to a spray head. The temp of the water at the sprayer was 20 degrees cooler than in the barrel. I tried a longer coil and a larger coil in the freezer, but they would freeze.
Just to hot here to keep minnows on my covered porch.
Truly a slice of genius my friend! Well done
nice job
I use to work on the refrigeration equipment on some commercial minnow tanks. Been a while but i think the optimum temp for best friskyness and reduce the required oxygen was about 50 to 55 or so. I use to keep some in a big cooler in the basement with an aerator,I would add ice just a little once in a while to try and keep the water about 60 or so.
This is the best thing since slice bread. I use this on a freezer at my Deer Camp. Just plug the freezer into this control, then plug the control into the outlet and set the temp . Keep any freezer at what ever temp you want.
