This has nothing at all to do with fishing . I'm sure a lot have a cordless drill or screwdriver with bad batteries . New batteries are obsolete or cost more than a new drill . Discard the old battery , solder on 10 - 15 ft. lamp cord , add a couple alligator type battery clips ,and you've got a drill you can power off any 12 volt vehicle ...car ,truck ,boat ,lawnmower ,motorcycle ,4 wheeler
I guess that would work IF the drill is 12 volts, but would an 18 volt drill work that way??
Check on the cellphone chargers and find the output voltage and amps,I used one to run a computer fan in a incubator. cut the wires and hook them up to the drill.Just make sure you have the correct amperage and voltage output

Most of the cordless that are lithium powered use 18650 cells. Same with laptops. Crack open the battery case and replace the cells. It is much cheaper than buying a new battery pack and lets face it, if you dont have duct tape holding some part of a tool together, you arent using it enough.

The amperage would depend on how sharp the bit is and how much pressure you're putting on it . A 9.6 , 12 , or 14 volt .will work fine . I've got a 6 volt, I've drilled a lot of holes with it .So what if it burns up .It ain't doing any good laying around collecting dust .:dono
Just buy a corded drill and be done with it. The problem with battery operated tools is you leave them unplugged until you need them, then you have to charge them up. IF you do leave them plugged in to charge you don't need them for along time and burn them up. IF you are in the trades, cordless is the way to go. IF your weekend warrior, buy a corded drill and be done with it. Face it, your not going anywhere where there isn't power 25-50' away.
