Hello I am a newbie here and am curious to what a baby crappie fry looks like? I have two very small fry I got from the river that I think may be Crappie but am not sure. If anyone could share a pic or two I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Welcome aboard from North Alabama. You peaked my curiosity. I looked it up.the only images I could find looked like crappie. I have seen tons of fry around docks I have been shooting lately. I would think that when they are that small it would be hard to tell what species the fry is.
Welcome Aboard from Southwest Ms
Hi Jack. Thanks for the warm welcome. I too looked on the internet for pictures of fry but only found images of larger Crappie. See I have one of those aquaponic indoor garden tanks that I got for a Betta Fish which unfortunately died. I tried another and same thing so I figured it might be the water since where we live the water is so bad that you have to have a major water system on it just to bath in it but that puts salt in the water so I think over a short period of time the Betta fish were not well because of it. I ended up cleaning it all up and was just going to sell it and pass it along when I got a bright idea . . . why not catch a couple fry and enjoy watching them for a while using the river water they live in then set them free and catch new ones to watch and so on.
The two I have now, our first two, I think may be specks since they are speckled with darker spots. But they do not look much like an adult Crappie at all to Me. I tried to take a photo but these little guys seem quite camera shy so not sure it is a very good representation but I will try to get a few more and add them to should they turn out.
BTW: Dock Shooting? Please explain seems you have peek My curiosity too ;-)
Thank you for the nice warm welcome ;-)

This was the best of the pics I could get. These little buggers are a bit camera shy and fast as all get up!!! If you know what these are please share. Thank you.
Can't tell. Welcome from lower Alabama
Try putting a white sheet of paper back there and getting a pic with the fish in front of that.
And welcome to the site!
Ok lets see if these pics are any better.

Dock shooting is holding a jig in your fingers, loading the rod ( bending it back), release the jig and the reel at the same time ( almost like a sling shot) and shooting a jig I to the voids under docks and boat houses. It's a way to get to fish that can't be gotten to in any other manner. YouTube is a good place to see the mechanics of it.
Wow, sounds fun. I'll have to check it out on youtube. Thanks for the explanation.
Check out the Florida board........lots of tips and fishing reports there........Welcome aboard
