I think you are on to something, Stump. I like it!!!
That's awesome Stump. The only reason that would not get bit is because you didn't cast it.
Great looking fly.
Good looking fly, don't care what you call it! To me it kind of looks like one of them Deer Fly bugs, but like I said, don't think it matters what you call it, looks good!
For anyone that doesn't know horse flies or deer flies, the horse fly is a lot bigger and bites harder, LOL!
deer flies, yellow flies and horse flies - Chrysops, Diachlorus and Tabanus spp.

Dang....almost looks too purty to fish with....I said, ALMOST!
Nice
Skip those horse/deer flies will have you bleeding, been a many of times riding a horse deep into the woods and would hit a bottom that was like riding through hell!! I think they are bigger than a size 8 :deadhorse
Stump, that's one good looking fly. I see so many that looks great in the store and self destruct on fish #2. That one will float and take more of a beating than the commercial offerings I've seen. Good work. But then, you always do nice work.
that is freaking sweet! you definitely didn't follow the "normal" grasshopper/cricket/terrestrial insect patterns that are all over Youtube. I like to tie my hoppers in Orange, tan and Brown colors. that's just my preference though. Awesome job!!!
i love foam
Very creative and excellent craftsmanship. That is a winner.
