They are still biting!
Fished Buggs again on Saturday for a little over 6 hours and ended up with 90 crappie on the counter. They were still on brush anywhere from 4 to 16 feet deep. All caught on green or yellow stinger jigs cast or jigged over brush. Tried a couple of other jigs but they seemed to like the stinger on a 1/32 oz jig head still the best.Water temp dropped 8 degrees from last weekend but it didn't seem to hurt the fishing. Kept 16 fish for my neighbor with 6 of them over a pound, most of the fish again were in the 9.5" range. Sure was fun.

DAYS LIKE THAT I BET SURE MAKES IT HARD TO GO TO WORK,KNOW U ARE ENJOYING YOUR NEW PLACE,LOOKS LIKE I WILL NEED TO GET LESSONS FROM U NOW

I have a loooooong way to go to be in the same class as Gene but he sure has taught me a few things. I know I sure don't miss fishing with minnows, really like catching them on jigs you make yourself. It's good to see some better fish starting to show back up on the brush, they seem to be recovering well from the spawn and have put the feedbag on. I'm still fishing back in the creeks but have heard good reports coming from the main lake area as well, Buggs is just so big and I have so many spots to fish it is hard to hit them all. :) Yes we are really enjoying our little home at the lake, sure is hard to leave to go back to work during the week but knowing we'll be back soon helps. Don't know how long this hot bite will last but I'll enjoy it while it does. Come on down!!!

Great report! the bigguns are doin great on the main lake brush. been catchin a lot of 12-16 inchers, 12-15ft deep on brush in 20-30fow. Of course they seem to be hittin the World Famous FishDoc Bucktail best but I've been exposed to Gene's Stinger by the Master himself so I know how good it is also (he had me 8-0 before I got tuned in) And, Roy, the closer retirement gets, the faster the time flys! (an tahoe, we throwin back more than we keep!)

Jim, just let me know anytime you ever want to go and we'll go give them a try. They were still biting good back in the creeks as well. Still catching right many as shallow as 4' over brush in 9' of water.
