Whats yalls best artificial color combo for Bream?
Chartreuse & black is my favorite. Especially in spider flies.
Black and chartreuse small spiders, I make my out of worms and spinner skirts.
I think depth and speed matter a lot more than color.
Having said that, my artificial bait of choice the last couple of years has been a trout magnet in solid red or solid black.
I'm using black curly tails.
I went on a field trip with my kids one year and they learned about aquatic insects and we got to see them swimming around a pond. I didn't even know insects that can breathe underwater existed until then. Anyhow, that was an eye opener, and i realized 90% of what bream eat is going to be darker color.
So I switched to black curly tails and they work great.
Black 1/64th jig with a chartreuse nibble. Any way you present it.
I favor 1/64th and 1/32nd oz. jigs in solid black. I also have a soft spot in my heart for beetles that are white with the red spot on them. Black works better in dingy water, white works better in clearer water.
darker colors, mostly black with red or orange heads for me. Black power grubs, panfish assassins, and popeye jigs are my go to gill getters.
1/32 and 1/64 yellow chatruse head and blach squirrel tail body with a gulp alive maggot.
some one please post a pik of these spiders yaw are speaking of.
I use 6mm pompoms from craft stores and #6 gill hooks. Just about any color will work but I do prefer black & chartreuse. You can use any size chain bead eyes
you like. Super glue the pompom onto the thread around the hook and it will last a long time. For a slow sinking spider, leave the chain bead eyes off the jig. If
you feel like using a scent on your jigs, soak the pompoms in whatever scent you think the gills want after tying the spider.

Lately I've been using some bass pro baby beavers in yellow/pink and tearing it up on the bluegills. I caught about ten gills and one really nice bass one one of them today in about an hour

Lately I've been using less glitter in clear plastic when I pour the above shape. I little sparkle goes a looong way and a slam dunk when using finesse action lures. Even inactive fish bite.
If all I had with me were the above color flakes or fine silver flakes in clear plastic, I would never need any other colors.
(note: I cast the above soft plastic shape 100 % of the time and rig them on 1/32-1/8 oz jig heads (always unpainted); depending on whether I cast it or hang it under a float, lure length ranges from 1.5" - 2 3/4".)
