It's the annual St. Judes bass classic. Engineer Point will be closed to the general public (I believe). Going to be a cluster for sure. Good luck.
Ok thanks for the info!!! I'm hoping the bass guys have their own spots away from the crappie spots!!!!
I will be out there early it's never a problem just alot of high dollar boats running back and forth that's about it. I would be more concerned of drunk kids in daddy's boats and pontoons running you over. That lake will be busy Saturday.
The further away from the dam you are the better
Fishing on Memorial Day weekend is like going out drinking on New Year's Eve. Can be fun, but way too many amateurs behind the wheel.
I'm all OUT on fishing anywhere this weekend!!
Love bugs don't bite, but they sure do stink,,,,lol
The bass tourney is Sunday.
Got out there early today at Enid saw the first tube being pulled when I was headed in. On the gnats I tried the thermacel and that hasn't worked.
Only thing that will work with them Gnats is a head net.
Vanilla extract mixed with water will keep them off. Have to reapply often though. Was only lasting around an hour last time I used it.
Caught 3 and had 4 throw backs. 3 keepers were females and had eggs they were grey and rotten looking.
Use Avons Skin So Soft. ..original flavor,,,, works great on all sorts of insects and smells pretty good too..
Just let me know if y'all ever need any,,, My wife's got connections with Avon,,,,
bugs aren't a problem anymore. but please use deodorant anyway!!!
Now it's the cicadas jumping in the boat! Bet a crank that's painted up like one of them ugly jokers would catch a few fish right now!
Back in the Ol days guys used to chew matches while in the trenches to rid themselves of chiggers no ticks,,,,remember the Ol war movies? seems folks found out that Sulfa in matches used to war off the bugs while at war... so now you can actually buy Sulfa at local CVS or Walgreens in pill form to help with bug issues while hunting or fishing,,, Go figure eh? Sorta like garlic and Vampires,,,lol
