What is the cable needed to connect my humminbird 859 with the US2 transducer that came on my trolling motor?
If your unit has down imaging, us2 may not be compatible. I have a terrova 55 and an 859 ci HD di. I routed the cable for the supplied transducer through the channel in the shaft of my terrova. I asked technical support at HB about using us2 with my sonar, she said it was incompatible.
Yes, the US2 only works with regular 2D sonar.
Will it work with regular sonar on my hd unit? I do have regular 2d sonar "page" on my unit. I understand the HD part wont work, but will the other?

where does it plug into?
The plug on the adaptor cable has a connection exactly like the one on the HB transducer cable. It plugs in where the transducer would go. The other end is a screw fitting that connects to the US2 cable. On my unit which is a plain 2D/GPS the transducer receptacle is a bit different than the ones showing on your unit, but if you have the correct adaptor cable it will only fit in one slot. If the connection does not match up, it may not be compatible. Best call HB and check with them, but their compatibility chart should have shown if it would work.
And cray did post the correct adapter cable link for this application ...

So the hd transducer cable comes out of the big plug that is on the back??? This big plug on the back contains both the power and the DI transducer. I have pulled this thing off and it doesn't look like it comes out. If this is the case, I will have to get a new plug? Or cut this one in half, and then just use the single plug (that is the US2 adapter)?
Or can my unit support multiple transducers? If it will, I would be more interested in that, and then is it the same adaptor cable? What is the connection sites (that has 6 and 4 holes on the left on my graph in the image above)?
I read this and now really confused. lol
So Im going to get the MKR-US2-8 adapter cable. I have ran one down in little rock and going to pick it up this evening. So I guess I will be replacing the DI transducer with the US2 adaptor cable. This will ruin my unit? Is there a way I can just shut the Down Image totally off and just use 2d with the US2? (Keep US2 on)
I wouldn't be using the "Dual beam" because my adaptor cable is not a Y. ( I dont think). Dual beam would be allowing th DI to work off of one transducer and the 2D work off of the US2. Is there a way I can use the US2 ONLY? And have nothing to do with DI. Im sure my terminology is way off here. I may be confusing you guys with my possible inaccurate interpretations I have developed of what I think I read, lmbo. Sorry guys hahaha.
1st ... You will need to unplug the cable collector from the back of the head unit and disassemble it to get the XNT 9 DI T xducer cable out of the plastic cable collector ...
Then you will have 2 options ...:
Scenario 1....
*MKR US2 8 connects to head unit in the same socket of the cable collector that your XNT 9 DI T just came out of ...
*Set the "Transducer Select" menu under the Sonar tab to "Dual Beam" ...(this disables the DI transmitter from firing)...
*XNT 9 DI T not used in this setup ...2d data will come from the US2 ...
Scenario 2....
*MKR US2 8 connects to "Dual Beam" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable ...
*XNT 9 DI T connects to "Side Image" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable ...
*Set the "Transducer Select" menu under the Sonar tab to "DI 200/83" ...
*DI/Temp data will come from the XNT 9 DI T ... 200/83 2d data will come from the US2 ...
