Pulling a boat
Pulling a boat
five is not enough lol
Well, I tried one bimmer and that did not work, bummer. Dropped off boat and drove home, gonna try using the other bimmer in the morning to make it the rest of the way. Hopefully someone needs a boat down there at Shelbyville. Got a great deal on one for you cause I don't want to tow it back home! lol

Dono why Tomtom is giving me thumbs up. Terrible that we not there now listening to fish stories.
Darn car has towed this boat 1000 miles with no problem. All the sudden it just starts bogging down when you give it gas. But without boat it was happening too just now on way home, till I got into my home neighborhood, then it started running just fine. Dono. Very strange. Withou boat, and being light on the throttle on the highway it went fine all the way home with even good fuel economy. But when I gave it gas (like I said before, even with out boat) it would bog down and go into "limp home" mode. All I'd do is turn car off and back on and take it easy on the pedal on the way home and I made it fine. Then when I got home I could jump on it all I wanted and it was fine.
Pull your anchor in on your boat.
OK....He is driving a Beemer convertable today and has already picked up the boat and is close by by now if not there already. What a guber.
Had the same problem with my car several years ago on a trip to Colorado. Had to replace the fuel pump.
Fuel filter?
If figure a man with the means to have 2 bmws, would have 2 boats!! 1 at each house.
Only took two bimmers but we did make it.
And even found fish.

:hesaid Would it pull a European boat better? Just sayin.
The supercharger may be bad for the loss of power while towing the boat.
My guess is catalytic converter is toast. Last I talked to Slab the boat and car were in pieces on the ground. :popcorn
They said it was the MAF, but now they tell me there is another problem. With the DISA. It's the flap inside the intake to change the intake route based on RPM. I'm not happy, personally I think it was the DISA the whole time, and they guessed and made me pay for MAF on top it all. But still don't have car back. I asked for old parts back.
$$$$$$
BMW cost big bucks to repair, but when you have it $ who cares.
I've always repaired my cars myself. I my be slow, but I do everything myself. I've even rebuilt auto transmissions (that are still working today, at least 8 years later). I never bring it to a dealer. I only did this time cause it had a recall, and my back was hurtin. I figured I'd at least get them to diagnose it. And yes, do not get a bimmer unless you do your own work, cause yes, they are expensive to repair, but fun to drive.
I just found a BMW repair man, i do the same Slab much cheaper.Attachment 204384Attachment 204385My middle son and i with this project, it was bought before we finished it, the guy wanted it so we sold it.$$$
Well heck slab. I too have done all my own vehicle repairs. At one time I had a fleet of 6 vehicles I was maintaining. I too have rebuilt a few transmissions, done an engine swap or two. Fuel sending units, bearings, shocks, and the list goes on and on. What is a DISA?
Good luck, I hope they get r done soon.
he is a guber what do you think
A disa is a flap in the intake manifold that redirects airflow for low and high rpm. Essentially it lengthens intake runner to increase low end torque. Longer runners increase speed of air flow into cylinders at low rpm for higher torque. And at high rpm you want short runners (less restriction) to let more air in for higher hp. That's all I have for today. Class dismissed. Lol
Just so you know Slab set in my truck and I think I have him converted to getting one and rid of the old BMW. A nice American made vehicle.
Disa, is this a British word, i don't think that word is found in the chilton books.:Rofl
I was wasn't kidding. See
And they got a machine that makes onions. Actually not a bad hot dog.
Just one hotdog ? I would need at least 3 to hold me till supper. lol.
At least the hot dog is longer than the bun. I hope your not in SF Cali where the sell foot long dogs, you must of flew British airways.:Rofl Have a great trip !
fits right in with the NUTS
You live near Chi-town and you flew to Cali for a dog. That apparel business is good, real good. :Rofl
Where is the mustard?

Anyway. I also attended a "forum owners conference" held here in San Francisco. Actually a good conference. Not a lot of info out there for forum owners and where the technology is going.
He had to fly a suitcase of $$$$$$$$$ to Cali, next will be cdc1 cdc2 and cdc3 lot of $ in t-shirts.:biggrin
