BCDD 5/13/15

Went for a while today. This time I got an early start hoping the bite would be better in the AM. Well it was slow till around 12 or 1pm when the bite picked up. I kept 14 sacs, 4 bass, 2 bull bream, and 1 goggle eye. I threw back the usual amount of small fish as my previous trips. I kept 10 inch and up sacs. I had 4 go 12 to 13 inches. I ran into Shallow Runner and he and his friend managed 18 sacs and a few big bream. The fish were just toying with the jigs and shiners today. We all had to entice them to take it. I caught half my fish with the road runner. Today I caught the bigger fish off grass beds in 6 to 8 fow with Black/Chartreuse Road Runners retrieving slow enough to just keep it off the bottom. I also caught my all time smallest sac. It couldn't of been 3 to 4 inches long.

Tempting, but Henderson is a shorter drive and I'm in the mood for some open water. I'm not sure if I'll ever do BCDD. So much time there working over the years it's hard to think I could have fun there. :) Close to home for you though.

Yes its close for me. The water looks good way south. I want to go to Henderson soon but its hard to leave the area I have been catching and go there not knowing where to fish.

good looking fish there... they were mighty finicky today... cant tell you how many hits i had that i didn't catch... and the one that i did catch most were just barely hooked.

Bell City Drainage Canal. The locals call it the Bell City Drain Ditch.

Yea Prowler they where tricky to catch. I was surprised I caught any at all the fishing forecast was 14%. It was like they would just grab the tail and move it. I would try to set the hook and they would let go. I finally would just let them take it till I couldn't stand it anymore.....lol. I found they would also take it if I would swim the cork as slow as I could with out the slip cork sliding on the string. Sometimes they would just hit it 2 or 3 times before they would take it.

It isn't that wide. I can hit the bank on either side from center in 90% of it.

It weighed .88#. It hit the Road Runner like a freight train.
