Nice way to keep after them.
Nice job, I fish the mid-lake area. I'm bringing my 10 year old daughter and her friend down this weekend. I plan on pulling some cranks on Saturday. Would you mind sharing some details regarding the catch i.e. water depth, length of line out, speed, etc. I normally pull bandit 300s anywhere from 70 to 110 feet back around 1.5mph in water 17 feet or deeper. I have had good success with "Orange Crush" in the bandit 300 line if you haven't tried it.
Nice job
yes yes yes just what I like to hear approaching my days off work
Thanks for the additional info. If I get the girls out I'll post a report - thanks again.
congrats on the catch. love to hear the crankbait bite is coming around again. my favorite way to catch crappies!
Yeeeee! Ha! I'm ready.
Does anyone attempt to pull crankbaits on Truman?
Just talked to my wife cousin this weekend and he was pulling cranks in the Tebo area and did good.
I've had great luck at Truman. I've only fished there 3 times, pulled bandits each time and limited out each time. I stayed down toward the dam, and chose an area where the main channel swings up tight to some bluffs. I tried to stay in open water to avoid losing a bunch of bandits, but the lake still claimed some. lot of trees in the water at Truman, one of those extendable lure retrievers will pay for itself in 1 trip.
30# power pro is a god send when pulling crankbaits on Truman and Mark Twain. We've been hung up plenty and I can count on one hand how many crankbaits that we've broke off.
been pulling cranks for about a month now on ky lake. i know that isn't loz but weve had some good success with 70-80 ft of line out fishing anywhere from 15-20 fow. pink has been the best color so far along with orange crush and mad cow. chartreuse also has been decent
Thanks for the tip on trolling w/crankbaits. Went to Truman yesterday and trolled 36-46 ft deep along tree line and caught 11 and 12 inch Crappie, lost one, no limit, lost one crankbait in trees'. Went to Ebay and Bass pro and got more ( crankbaits), most fish were below the 15 ft line.
Nice mess of fish I bought some small crank baits but never have tried them looks like they work well.
What are some good colors to start out with on LOZ in clear water? I was thinking the shad colors but might be wrong. Thanks for any info.
Pink, Fire tiger, mad cow, chrome blue back

Welcome to the board. There are several here who troll crank baits. It can get addictive. When you have some spare time, you may want to read this thread from the Mississippi board.

I'm interstate in pushing baits. Seems much easier
Curt-welcome to the site! You might try going to the main forum and clicking the search button, then search for pushing and you might put in a comma and also type in crankbait. This will get you a lot of answers. Good luck
Pm Scott v on the Mississippi board, he dad man on pushing
Time to crank in the new season!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I pull cranks right outside the tree line opposite side of Sterret Creek. Bandits 300
Pink is a great color also for white bass.
Give the Arkie 220 series cranks a try now in 6 to 10 FOW for pre spawn crappie
