Thanks Slacktide! Me and my buddy had a blast, one hell of a guy to take a couple strangers out on the water and put a hurting on some crappies. Caught Kept and cleaned over 40 the first day and 50 crappie the second day and caught every bit of 120 in the last two days.
That is incredible. I'm assuming these are tidal James river crappie? If so, did they have those little red worms? You can usually just take a knife tip and pry them out. I've always wondered why the river fish have them and the lake fish do not. Congrats on the success all.

some of the fish do have parasites they are called..they are two types ones hard black like seed the other kinda wormish look....although this year not to bad they were some with both ...the guys from Kansas said they have them as well..its from the birds and their droppings . ...and lake fish have some as well, different strains of parasite different areas.....all are safe even if consumed....if we get one thats bad we just trash it we have plenty more usually..........the fish have eat well for over 30 years .....some will bring up this topic when their skill set or equipment doesn't allow for river success....that's all good I just prefer the rivers ...went today as I had 4 or five hours to kill and 30 minnows went for 2 hrs caught sixteen on some new structure nothing over 13 14 though..........time to get 24' boat out the yard and get salty............PEACE
