We picked our first picking of contender bush beans. So we did what any good Cajun would do with them. WE smothered them down with fresh dug onions and taters from a friends garden a favorite combination of mine that marks the beginning of spring garden time. Finally got our garden out this past week. Planted Tenderette & Kentucky Wonder 125 bush beans.
“Tonnaire, amis, mais ca c’est bon, oui!”
Cappy, I'll let you know what I think. I think you should have invited me over. lol. It looks great and delicious. We do ours just a little different but almost the same, just the way Linda likes it. Fresh green beans and tators are good anyway you do them.
This year we will forgo the traditional first garden fresh meal. Why, you ask. I didn't plant any beans this spring. I have enough canned and in the freezer to carry us through till next spring. But just in case something happens, I will be planting some in the fall. The same for okra, I will pass on them until next summer.

gene for us its cucs and hot peppers may not plant them for a couple years but beans and okra we eat all we plant.:biggrin
